All lines blocked between stafford-crewe /runcorn-liverpool lime street due to overhead line damage
1Z99 stafford-ditton east junction to assist in the runcorn area

I know it might be anecdotal in the sense I don’t have data to prove/support but there seems to be a lot of OHL damage recently across the UK. My prayer is that it will not sour the powers that be to further electrification

A month or so ago I asked on here if our OHLE was less resilient than in Europe. As ever everyone thought me wrong, but I still wonder.

Our location might be a factor, we're windier than the central European countries.

That is indeed a factor as I pointed out the last time the question was asked.

Is our OHLE therefore relatively more robust than Europe's, to take account of this windiness? My perception is that much of the large amount of OHLE damage of late has been caused by rolling stock rather than weather.
