West Midlands Day Ranger
A West Midlands Day Ranger ticket allows you unlimited travel by train in a day anywhere shown on this map below. You can travel on any of the following train operators' services within the validity area: London Midland, Northern, First Great Western, Arriva Trains Wales, Chiltern Railways, East Midlands Trains, CrossCountry Trains, Virgin Trains and Wrexham & Shropshire Railways.

i finally found that you are valid on w&s

Yes The London Midland website has advertised that for as long as I can remember. W&S have also happily accepted WMDR's for ages, quite possibly since they first started, even if It was only made "official" last Sunday.

As usual though the National Rail site is about 10 years behind
though it's hardly the 1st place i'd go for ticket information when it shows confusing information like

No Discounts
Concession Card, Annual Gold Card, Family Railcard, Senior Railcard, New Deal Photocard Scotland, Forces Railcard, Network Card, Child, Young Persons Railcard, New Deal Photocard, Disabled Adult Railcard, Disabled Child Railcard.

And that's misleading in itself, as the New Deal Photocard isn't valid on rovers and rangers, only walk up standard class fares.

Just search in Google and click the first result for NRES which has all the info you need.
