From what I understand Liverpool St Senior Conductors will route learn to Stansted so the 745s can be introduced on this route. How long degraded working will continue with this fleet is anybody's guess.

Why? There aren't enough of them to cover this work as well as what they have surely?

Only other way is to use these crew on the Airport route and taxi Ipswich/Norwich guards to/from Liv.St for early start or late finish turns unless 321s are used in DOO South of Ipswich.

06:48 Norwich to London Liverpool Street
0900 London Liverpool Street to Norwich
1130 Norwich to London Liverpool Street
1400 London Liverpool Street to Norwich
1630 Norwich to London Liverpool Street
1902 London Liverpool Street to Norwich

Diagram 2:
0740 Norwich to London Liverpool Street
1000 London Liverpool Street to Norwich
1230 Norwich to London Liverpool Street
1500 London Liverpool Street to Norwich

Correct me if I'm wrong.

With luck and a tail wind a third 745 will join 007 & 010 later in the week. Not sure of the unit number or whether it's an additional diagram or just covering one of the current two.

Haven't two additional sets been accepted now?

No, 007 & 010 only. 002/006/009 are out on FFR/mileage accumulation now and will probably be the next units accepted.

Why does it take so long to get each train into service? Are they not quality checked before the operator takes delivery?
They are checked before the operator accepts them, the units not yet checked and accepted are not owned by GA or the ROSCO. Delivery is not acceptance.

I hope the good people of Norwich are ready for a lot of 321s coming their way from the end of March.

A good few weeks ago now they said there will be one a week coming into service to ensure the lot are deployed by Easter, by my reckoning they are at least 3 units behind where they should be based on that.

There must be a sensible derogation solution, such as trains on the hour (or half hour) to be PRM compliant, whilst the full fleet comes into service

I think many passengers are just grateful for a train now. I notice those bothering to gripe about bins vice hauled set on Twitter are getting less & less.

This week I have started to see Norwich colleagues saying they waited for next train in preference to riding in bins all the way to London. They did not get sympathy from Cambridge workers!

Rare sight this evening. Fully formed hauled set, 9 coaches including a buffet car. No heating in buffet though so doubtless that'll get knocked out. I sat in there anyway, kept my Adnams cool whilst I drank it! :D

Did just this last week. The unrefurbished bins are slightly more tolerable. The worst aspect (of both varieties) is that the seats are too low to sit comfortably.
Booked on the 0900 out of Liv Street on Friday. Hoping to sample 745 first class.

They’re not owned by GA after acceptance. Rock Rail is the owner of the Stadler sets.

LNR are running Class 319s with no heating daily, I don't think it's a safety reason to withdraw from service unless you want to to carry out repairs.

There's probably an outside temperature where it becomes an issue. With this winter being rather mild (temperature-wise, even if not conditions-wise) it'll be far less an issue than two years ago.

Presumably a driver has a right not to work a train if the temperature in the cab is not adequate?

The
I can only presume more will be taken on or they are just hoping this will be temporary to get the odd one in traffic.
latest I've heard is that no 745's will be operating on Stanex until Summer at the earliest. I can't see 745/1's being deployed until ALL the 745/0's have, and even then probably quite some time after.

Do you think the 745's waiting out in the Norfolk countryside are rusting yet? I wonder how long their guarantee is. After a promising start with 007, the service seems to have fallen apart, cancellations are a real pain, and it's the big important trains too. Even the conductor for the 06.25 321 from LST to Norwich couldn't be asked to turn up, so it did the journey empty this morning. Frustrating to see your train go through the station without stopping. It feels like meltdown when you walk into the station of a morning... or an evening for that matter. Ipswich - Felixstowe is a complete joke.

Are both the 745s out today? Was only one out yesterday

All of the following were cancelled:
0648 Norwich to London Liverpool Street - Train Fault
0900 London Liverpool Street to Norwich - Train Fault
1130 Norwich to London Liverpool Street - Train Fault
1400 London Liverpool Street to Norwich - Train Fault
1630 Norwich to London Liverpool Street - Not Investigated
1902 London Liverpool Street to Norwich - Late inbound service

Which unit was it that was out for the day?
