Absolutely. We're all entitled to a voice :)

We exit the station and take the three minute walk to St George's tram stop, where we board the 2222 West Midlands Metro service to Library, arriving there at 2308 on Friday evening.

Pretty much every time this quiz visits somewhere rural (usually the Scottish Highlands), one of two things happen. Either, we get a long distance coach/train to the other end of the country because being anywhere without 15 buses a second is unthinkable, or there is a stream of complaints about the lack of services etc. I don't really understand the second one, because we don't have to wait real time if it turns out there's a few hours between transport. Equally, while urban transport is nice, it gets tedious if we're stuck in the same area for days (real days not game days) on end. In a recent discussion with another user, they also expressed misgivings about the situation above.

What's good about this game is variety. If we could find a balanced position without the passive aggression, that would be excellent.

Yes, I agree with all of your points except for the last one. I don't think anybody is being passive aggressive as such; I think it's more down to frustration. I get a headache planning moves where buses aren't that frequent, especially as I feel many of us on here use different sources which list completely different timings!

There is one more service we can use, which is the 0045 Transport for Wales service 2J98 to Shrewsbury, arriving there at 0100 on Saturday morning.

We then board the 1042 Transport for Wales service 2V38 to Briton Ferry, arriving there at 1326 on Saturday afternoon.

* I can see a 58 bus but even then it only takes you two stops into the village.

We exit the station and board the 1430 First South & West Wales Metro service 4 to Singleton Hospital (Hospital Grounds), arriving there at 1457 on Saturday afternoon.

Streetlites are used on this service and they are quite possibly the worst vehicles for such a busy cross-city route!

We next board the 1621 First South & West Wales Cymru Clipper service X3 to Maesteg (Bus Station), arriving there at 1710 on Saturday afternoon.

I speak as one who was also deeply involved with the first incarnation of this thread (anyone remember Zoe?) and have always been interested in visiting some of the more obscure settlements by bus in postings before these are withdrawn. As such, I use the slightly amended Startrek phrase..."to boldly go where no bus has been before"

This usually brought a response...."not much going on here"....but who is to know what dark secrets may well exist in those places....o_O

We don't have long to wait for the 17:54 First South Wales service 83 to Blaengwynfi (Terminus) where we arrive at 18:05 on Saturday evening.

To add to the "where should we go?" debate - a mixture is good. It's interesting to explore infrequent rural services and I don't think getting stuck for a few hours should be any problem at all. Equally exploring cities I don't know very well is interesting, but the nth trip round the suburbs of Manchester or Birmingham or London can get a bit repetitive. "Something for everyone" should be our motto!

We don’t have any choice but to board the next First South Wales service 83 (the 1830) to Pontrhydyfen (Oakwood), arriving at 1853 on Saturday evening.

I think this echoes my thoughts, its always interesting to move the game towards where I live or areas I'm familiar with is good but it's also nice to learn about new areas or places I've recently visited. It does get repetitive repeatedly ending up at the same places (like London) but I guess there is so much material there it keeps us going.

We take the 1900 First South & West Wales service 59 to Neath, Bus Station arriving at 1923 on Saturday.
There’s not many bus services left, so we walk 6 minutes to the railway station and wait a while for the 2046 Transport for Wales service to the request stop at Johnston, arriving at 2248 on late Saturday night.

There’s not more services for he night, and not even any local bus services in the morning, so we walk to the bus station and board the 0625 National Express service 528 to Sarn (Odeon), arriving at 1005 on Sunday morning.

We walk the 100 yards to Cardiff Philharmonic and find ourselves some lunch while waiting for the 13:05* Stagecoach South Wales service T4 to Llandrindod Wells (Interchange) where we arrive at 15:42 on Sunday afternoon.

*Note - there was an earlier bus at 12:05 but it only went as far as Merthyr Tydfil, which one of our members warned us off, as far as I remember!

Oh golly, who couldn't remember Zoe? Very petty individual, even in Greater London if there was a bus five minutes before she would disrupt the game and insist you get the one a few minutes before. Held the game up massively and in the end I took a break from it. As it happens, it got closed anyway and she was permanently banned from the forum; clearly one of the admins saw her true colours!

For me, that usually refers to there not being much in the way of further onward transport connections, not so much a reflection on the settlement itself as a whole.

I agree, it does get a little repetitive, which is why whenever I am in London I try and deposit us somewhere near a railway station where onward connections are available. However, London has hundreds of bus routes and there are plenty of onward connections available, so I personally never feel it to be too monotonous.

It looks as if the T4 is the only bus to serve Llandrindod on a Sunday, so we return on the 1608 Stagecoach South Wales TrawsCymru service T4 to Pontypridd (Bus Station), arriving there at 1825 on Sunday evening.

Doesn't appear to be any buses any time soon, so we board the 1953 Transport for Wales service 2Y88 to Cathays, arriving there at 2046 on Sunday evening.

The surrounding areas of Greater Bristol and Greater Brighton most certainly qualify as two more additions to your three areas named above.....speaking from years of participating on this thread (when I am not taking sabbaticals away from it)...

We exit the station and take the two minute walk to the bus stop opposite Stockland Street, where we board the 2136 Cardiff Bus service 9A to University Hospital of Wales (Main Entrance), arriving there at 2215 on Sunday evening.

Thanks to all (@DanTrainMan185 , @Xenophon PCDGS , @DerekC , @Andy Pacer ) for the discussion. I'm glad that there seems to be agreement. :)

Not a lot of choice here, so we wait for the 22:45 Cardiff Bus service 8 to Cardiff (Westgate Street) where we arrive at 23:15 on Sunday evening.
We take an overnight break and walk the 6 minutes to Cardiff Central to board the 04:35 Transport for Wales service to Craven Arms, arriving there at 06:19 on a Monday.
