Whilst Greater Anglia might be losing money because of the issues with the 755s, one local transport company is clearly benefitting:

“We’ve carried out a lot of rail replacement and school contract work in recent times,” explained Felixstowe Travel’s Mick Dabbs. “It’s good business for us, but with legislation changing for operators at the end of March, we had to ensure that we were fully compliant with Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR).

There's probably a contractual reason why Felixstowe Travel aren't allowed to describe themselves as operating the Felixstowe train service... :D

I saw them all setting off for their jolly.
I saw them trotting about at Clown Point. Don't think we'll see any photos of it from Berney appearing any time soon - I'd be suitably impressed / shocked if anyone made the effort to walk there this time of year !! o_O

They posted photos of themselves at Berney Arms on fb but as you say, not many walk there to walk back for one.

Felixstowe line is out again and some Ipswich to Lowestoft cancellations also.

The fact that they have 31 units accepted for service, and are struggling to even turn out over 20 on a daily basis is pretty tragic to say the least and whilst obviously these are not far from the start of the Bathtub curve, they should be better than that by now.

The current PR drive by Greater Anglia about the PPM on the Sheringham line being at very high levels is a smokescreen to the fact that the general reliability of service across the other rural routes is still poor.

Felixstowe Travel have invested in new vehicles because of what is apparently a record amount of rail replacement work they have been conducting. The fact they can make a business case to obtain such vehicles on the basis of a lot of work to come speaks volumes.

Would it be right to assume that priority is being given to the Norwich Cambridge Stansted route. Then everything after that? The Peterborough unit seems to rely on whether the unit at Colchester overnight refuelled okay. And then at some point in the day it appears to be swapped with another unit - probably off the Lowestoft or Felixstowe branch.
Partly the availability seems to depend on where units start and end the day - the greater concentration being at Norwich - so it does appear that the Norwich based services will be easier served by the units that are hanging around Crown Point. Otherwise it appears that is a unit fails somewhere - there is a real mission to get it from Crown Point to wherever it needs to be.
Looks as though the Felixstowe branch is the first to be robbed of its unit if something goes wrong. Possibly the Peterboro service is the same?

I'm going to have to watch The Titfield Thunderbolt again now. Are there any vintage locos in Felixstowe museum? Dan! Dan! Another 755 has failed Dan! Are you there Dan?!

It's a lamp bracket .
It's either removable or folds away into the nose which is why you can't see one on 325.
Thanks and ever since first delivery I have been puzzled as to how the DB tail markers were affixed to that first unit. Yes I suppose there is a remote possibility that both both tail lamp bulbs could fail in traffic. BTW what happened to those German markers ?

Rather than lamp failure which is unusual with LEDS it is more to do with being able to tow the unit around if it is electrically dead for whatever reason.

Looks like 417 has thrown its toys out of the pram. The Stadler behind is setting back and ROG 37 en- route.

Is 417 the one sat at Elmswell? Seems to be some crossing trouble there too, barriers down for ~30m with nothing coming past.

The Ipswich bound 2W07 has just left Elmswell 27L, still one Flirt sat in the Cambridge bound platform. Not sure if that's broken or just held up by 417?

2W04 needs to go over the emergency crossover to allow the Thunderbird through but there has been a delay in getting a NR employee to the site to operate this,

According to GA, there is a fault with the signalling system causing problems on Lowestoft lines as well.
The reopening service (0736 NRW - GYM) via Berney Arms was announced on train as going via Reedham but was switched at Brundall to go via Acle, Media and AGA staff on board and AGA lady said line to Berney Arms might reopen later today. As far as I know Lowestoft line has reopened.
