I don't know why they didn't settle on blue to the lower deck windows and red between decks with the rest white. Single deckers blue to the top of wheel-arches, red roof and the rest white. This would have been easier to apply and helped minimise dirt on the lower panels. Just a suggestion.

Maybe in the 70s or 80s, but that wouldn't really suit modern buses and would look pretty outdated.

I wonder if the reason why they're doing it is actually that now Souter has gone the other senior management want to put their stamp on it, and the rest of the wibble about reasons for it is just a justification to do something they wanted to do anyway.

You're probably right. To be fair i've grown to quite like the coach livery although i'm still not 100% on the gold, the "local" and "specialist" gimmicks just look rancid though and my hatred for them is getting stronger each time i see them. The E200 particularly annoys me as the livery application is wrong in pretty much every way. I don't mind them changing the colour scheme and think it was a welcome move, but the fact they actually paid someone to design those liveries templates is worrying.

Although i do think much of their work these days can be too repetitive, i would agree with comments mentioned earlier that if Best Impression had done the new liveries they would've came up with something far more eye catching.

Also, with existing vehicles, when they get a repainted, will the seating get retrimmed as well? If so, it'll look bizarre seeing the classic Stagecoach interior but without the blue and orange material on the seating. Maybe an opportunity to replace the seating with e-leather?
Surely they can't be stupid enough to have the two-tone grey e-leather in buses which have bright orange and blue interior colour scheme?
Unless you mean replacing the floors, respraying all of the interior plastics etc as well?

Well, although obviously unrelated to Stagecoach, I've noticed that when Go Ahead took over First's Manchester, they not only had the exteriors of the buses repainted, but the interior metals such as the hand bars and the door handles, so it doesn't seem to unreasonable to me that Stagecoach wouldn't gradually do it over time with their existing fleets from prior to the rebranding.

Perhaps those former First interiors were due for a refresh anyway. You've also got to consider that First also used its own interior scheme, and a rival group may wish to eliminate any traces of its former owner.

There's no point in Stagecoach spending money on refreshing the interior when there's no need for it. Passengers won't give two hoots unless the seats and trim appear to be dirty and tatty.

That's generally something Stagecoach are much better at (and need to keep up with) than Arriva, say, on whose buses I very rarely don't experience a "dirty and tatty" interior.

I think you probably have one of the worst Arriva firms. My experience with North East, Yorkshire and North West indicates they are usually pretty decent.

Been about 18 months since I travelled on Stagecoach Midlands but I actually thought that was one Stagey OpCo where some criticism about internal condition was justified. However, in general, they are good. Had one journey on a Stagecoach Wales Solo last summer and it was hard to believe it was 13 years old.

Possibly so. Arriva MK is utterly, utterly dire. Which is interesting, as Julian Peddle's MK Metro, from which it came into being, was pretty big on making sure buses were clean, tidy and in good condition even if they were old.

Stagecoach I think are better at keeping standards high across the organisation. With Arriva I think local management matters more.

Fully agree with you. What was Arriva Midlands and Arriva Shires (esp MK) do seem at the lower end of the scale though I confess, it's been a little while since I've been on those OpCos.

Stagecoach is fairly consistently good though, as I say, Midlands did seem to have slipped a bit when I last travelled on them.

Could be worse.... https://www.flickr.com/photos/14580...TFV-b3e6G4-a7R8rM-pFLU65-qFjivM-raBnsP-aj71Kx

I wondered whether, apart from Stagecoach Cumbria & North LancashireScania/Enviro 400 15698 shown on Steven Knight Media on 10 February, there are any other areas that have started to repaint intone new livery?

Yes, saw a photo of an E200 in Barnsley and another one of some Gold buses somewhere bring prepped for repaint.

Yes, spotted an E400-MMC in new livery while passing through Manchester the other day. Not one of the electric vehicles (I believe those aren't in service yet) but it had the blue/grey interior.

having a nice clear "Stagecoach" underneath the windscreen is a good thing
Indeed. It lets you know to wait for the next operator ;)

And why have they used someone else's logo? I see others say Fairy. I thought it looked a bit like the now-gone Lucent's logo but that's probably from seeing it on a building in Cambridge for years until the merger

Stagecoach East have started painting The Scania Enviro 400's and Volvo B7RLE's used on the Busway from Fenstanton depot. These are all being painted in the green livery for Special services.
Repaints are being done at Bedford depot.
Bedford's own Enviro 200 36045 is due in the paint shop very soon if not already to lose its pink cancer research livery. Bedford will also be sending Enviro 200 MMC's 37434/37 to Chesterfield for repaint in the next few months as these need a spray booth due to their young age and Bedford don't have one

Stagecoach South West have repainted a couple of MAN/Enviro 300s into plain white. At least one was previously in P&R Green. These 10 year old buses were re-engined last year.

What will be happening with the Lake District branding? It'll be a shame to loose such a distinctive livery.

Staying for now, though slightly changed (don't worry, it's only a tweak on the current design) and more buses going into it over the coming months.

Look at the Google Drive logo - it's identical except it uses straight lines rather than Stagecoach's curves.

Just the Lakes Connection for the extra vehicles, though the Lakesider brand is also staying as-is.

Good. The Lakes network and its branding and publicity is well into Trentbarton/Alex Hornby/Southern Vectis standard (I believe it's a Stenning job, and one of the better ones too) and desn't need pratting about with.

I quite like the livery but it looks awful on that, especially the front end!

Yep, think I'm of a similar opinion. The colours are fine and I can even deal with the expanse of white. However, the front looks like they've applied a new lower panel and it's in unpainted primer. I was agnostic before and whilst I'm not so bothered in hating it, I'm certainly more negative than I was.
