There are two countries in the world that are double landlocked - surrounded by countries that are themselves landlocked. Which are they?

Liechtenstein is one, I think the other is one of the former Soviet republics-- definitely some Stan or the other!

I know nothing whatever about football, Italian or otherwise; but, making a totally blind guess: Sir Walter Scott's novel The Bride of Lammermoor was adapted into an opera, Lucia di Lammermoor, by Donizetti -- said opera first performed in Naples in 1835. I'd guess the football team is thus the team -- or one of same, if there are more than one -- of Naples (Napoli).

Not the answer I was looking for, the link is far more direct. The author spent his final years in Canada, and is best known for one novel, although the answer lies in one of his lesser known works, set in a ficticious European country

John Buchan's novel The House of the Four Winds is set in the fictional country of Evallonia. Now perhaps someone with more knowledge of Italian football can complete the puzzle.
