Sure I read a couple of months ago they were planning on putting in a second charging site as resilience for the network - obviously not happened yet (and why is the charging site built somewhere that is closed for flodding nearly every year). The Medilink Electric buses are still running, presumably there are some chargers elsewhere in the city which can charge them enough?

I always assumed that there were chargers at the depot.

CT4N has a small depot in Sherwood. Part of it

I think the second charging site is for the BYDs

The depot/storage compound for the electric buses is Queens Drive P & R's. The BYD's are normally charged at the city end of car park, and the others are charged in the area behind the cycle track. Both under at least 50-75cm of water this morning by the looks of it (IIRC the charging gear is mounted higher). All the Medilink buses were sat in the slip road this morning - presumably waiting for time to enter service.

CT4N has a small depot in Sherwood.
Presumably some charging there which they've used for Medilink?

Yes, I realise all that - my comment about the depot was that they have charging facilities other than at Queens Drive.

None of the linkbus routes operated yesterday and only the L2 & W1 are operating today due to the charging points at Queens Drive being flooded!

NCT are taking over the Norwich Gardens section of the L14 next month by rerouting the 71 commercially. L14 retained Nottingham to Bulwell Bus Station.
They are also taking over the Winchester Court & Edwards Lane section of the L9 by rerouting the 40 commercially. A poster on facebook has stated the L9 is to be withdrawn.
Seems the City Council may be cutting its tendered network.
It ‘seems like’?
It’s pretty evident. Isn’t there now already a fleet of BYDs parked up at Queens Road depot doing nothing? And far too many electric solos for the Link bus services that still operate?

FJ58KKF was involved in a RTA near Trents Langley Mill depot whilst on soon to be withdrawn Rapid One. It had hit a dog walker and caused the stretch between Aldreds Lane and Lower Dunstead Road. The bus and passenger appeared to be ok as according to the tracker, it was still in use on Rapid One

Is there any possibility that Stagecoach may begin to allow their Day Explorer tickets be sold and used on the Pronto route now that they are the only operator. Day Explorer tickets are valid on their Sherwood Arrow and X1 services from Nottingham.

If that's the £7.20 Dayrider Gold ticket, then it is now showing up on the Stagecoach journey planner as available for use and purchase on Pronto.

Yep and the Family version which you seem to be able to use for just 2 adults travelling together costs £12.

I hope that all the drivers have been notified of this amendment!

Yes. It looks like that is the one. It must have changed it’s name recently as when I used to purchase one it used to be called a Day Explorer. The price has also risen from £5.90 but it is still good value for the area it covers. I’m sure the old Day Explorer ticket could also be loaded on to a smart card but this is now a paper ticket or mobile only.

Great news that it’s now valid on Pronto and not before time. It was very inconvenient and not passenger friendly to have to buy more than one ticket if part of your journey was on the Pronto route.

It seems the late night journeys from Nottingham to Mansfield are retained - they state that day return tickets are not valid on these journeys, but don't mention day or longer tickets.

The NCT extension of the 40 next month to cover Edwards Lane Estate & Winchester Court replacing the tendered L9 - CT4n are retaining the L9 commercially as the 19 and still serving Edwards Lane Estate - interesting! CT4n are withdrawing shoppers services S2-3-4-6-8-9 from April. L2 & S11 revised. Nottsbus 532 & 535 revised from next weekend.

I'm panicking a bit, the L2 is my local route!
I always found the shopper services silly, especially the ones that operate only on one or two days of the week.

Or Notts and Derby bus news.
I don’t think Leicester is commented upon very much in this thread and including the whole of the East Midlands could make the thread cover too large an area.
I think I would prefer 2 separate threads
1. Nottinghamshire Bus News
2. Derbyshire Bus News
Although perhaps not as then perhaps everyone would want a thread for their county!

It's not the East Midlands - it's for Nottinghamshire.
I've noticed some Derbyshire news creeping in sometimes!
However, East Midlands would also imply it covered Leicestershire. Perhaps 'Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News' would be more appropriate?

East Midlands would also include Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. Best leave it alone - perhaps just delete the bus wars bit?

I would think it would be better with two separate topics, one for Trentbarton/Wellglade and one for NCT

Surely, it's supposed to cover all the operators in Notts, not just a couple of major ones ?
Just leave it as Notts Bus News.

Just leave it as Notts Bus News.

It is typical for this forum to have one topic per operator. So I am advocating this for consistency reasons.

To discuss another operator, such as Stagecoach or a local independent in the area, it is as easy as opening a third topic.

The problem with having a topic for a geographical area is if there's news spanning two areas. E.g. Imagine an unlikely hypothetical scenario in which the Red Arrow is withdrawn - if there were a Nottingham topic and a Derby topic this would have to be 'reported twice', on both the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire topics. Rather than just once on a general Wellglade/TrentBarton topic.

Problem with having a Wellglade & NCT page is that we also discuss Stagecoach, Ct4n, Hulleys, High Peak, Centrebus & council tenders on here, all of whom don't really warrant their own page - and where would we list possible competition between NCTs revised 40 and Ct4ns new 19 from next month?

It's unrealistic to have a separate forum for each operator. If you get tenders transferring between operators you would end up with numerous entries.
Perhaps just leave everything alone as there's clearly no great consensus otherwise !!

If we name the thread East Mids Bus News then it can be for the whole of East Mids.
