Work started on the redevelopment here back in September 2018 from memory, but is still ongoing, where it took until earlier this month to close the through passage by the old ticket office, with the closure and temporary office set to remain in place until late 2020.

Does anyone know if the project is technically late, or if it's on time but the full details with a finish time were never disclosed? Most dates on the Network Rail site, and during early warnings back in 2018 of the works, have dates of summer 2019 as when most alterations would end. However they hadn't even finished clearing the site of the old pub by this point.

I know the pub was a slow demolition, likely due to the close proximity to the rest of the station (and maybe the council offices) making explosives unsuitable.

It took a while to demolish as it contained Asbestos in the walls. Last i heard Kent County Council still hadn't finalised the plans for the new entrance. i believe the work was meant to be finished for the introduction of Thameslink service in December 2019 but those didn't materialise either.

Sounds like a typical county council there, but thank you for the update. The Network rail site mentioned the Thameslink link up, as that's not happened the council probably were not under as much pressure to deliver for December.
