All 158’s are to receive the new seats. All refurbished units so far have had them fitted with the exception of the 3 car units which will receive them in due course.

The North East and Cumbria are the hot spots now for the class. There are 16 allocated to Newton Heath. I'm not sure what work they are allocated?

Think they can still show up on Leeds-Brighouse-Wigan runs, which spend longer alongside the Calder than the via Bradford runs do.

Heaton is HT and CF is Cardiff. I'm not sure about ZQ? In BR days the 'Z' prefix was used for works locations rather than maintenance depots.

Re Northen Connect spec units Summarising the above posts the only difference is enhanced 195 style passenger info screens, new tables and seat resevations.
I seem to remember the original plan was that only 158 operated Connect route was Newcastle Carlisle so in the unlikely event Connect ever goes ahead only some of the 16 Heaton units would need to be fitted.

More likely that all Heaton units will get it as it’s easier to diagram any 158 rather than having to find a specific unit within a class for a specific service. Bear in mind the 195’s and especially the 331’s work any range of services including suburban services but are not de-specced in any way.

Will have a guess at 150210 for the newton heath to doncaster run as that's the last to have PRM mods.

On a refurbished 150 and there’s black mould on the window surrounds. Do they ever get properly cleaned?
