Dont' get JWs coming to the door that often but always enjoy the blether with them. To date, they've always thanked me for my time and after a few minutes politely explained that they have to move on.

I treat the event like getting spam phone calls. If they're going to try and waste my time, what they'll discover is that I can waste an awful lot more of their time!

Just to give you a heads up, JWs are very much into end time prophecy usually citing war , disease famine. With COVID19 aka Corona don’t be surprised to see an upturn in their activity citing this as Gods due time etc.

A couple of my secondary school classmates were sons of a Free Church of Scotland Minister. I'm not sure how much of this is actually true, but I was told that people of the JW and Mormon faiths would turn up at the manse from time to time and their mother would engage them with refreshments and debate because the longer they spent there, the less time they had to spend trying to convert anyone else! :)

They have, though, been doing this full-on, ever since their inception -- which I think was about a century ago. They've cited so many bad things happening, over that eventful period, as certain evidence that the End Times were upon us; yet the final climax has kept failing to occur. No doubt they will indeed pull out the stops again, over Coronavirus; but I suspect that with many of their potential "marks", they've spoilt their chances because of the boy-who-cried-Wolf effect.

I’ll give you my view, as a Christian.
God knows when we truly are sorry for our sins. Some people genuinely misunderstand what God can do for their lives, and so don’t believe they can be forgiven. If they realise on their death bed, and truly are sorry - God is a God who forgives, and ultimately wants us to be with him in heaven.
However, I believe he also knows us and if we deliberately “fire up the sin mobile” for our whole lives, he knows it is unlikely, but not impossible, that we are truly sorry for our sins - so he may not forgive us.
You’re making a massive assumption that God exists - there is zero evidence for it.

I have seen copies of the JW circular (Watchtower ?) and they included pictures of what Heaven looks like, and I'm not sure I'd like it, or fit in.
I think Black Adder put his finger on it in one of his episodes, something like "Do you really want to spend eternity doing embroidery and painting watercolours, listening to Xylophone music?". Cliff Richard will be there of course, endlessly singing Summer Holiday - just imagine it. Or maybe it's a kind of Butlins holiday camp, where the fags and booze are free, but with no exit gate. As Black Adder said, maybe Hell is not so bad.

They predicted the end times would come in 1914... then 1925... then 1975... (though I'm sure those who were around in 1976 to hear the song "Afternoon Delight" would have wished the 1975 date had been accurate).
