I doubt it will be in standard livery - whatever standard livery actually is now. Nothing has been delivered in urban livery in years, or indeed nothing has been painted into it.
For the 73 I'm picturing a blue version of the city lines style

Not quite - the Wells Streetdecks were repainted into Urban with the red fronts and, rather oddly, the three ex Scottish B7s (31143/46/32225) were repainted (albeit in Scotland) in readiness for transfer to Bristol.

I think it’s 9 now if I’m not mistaken but I’ll check tomorrow to be sure.
That's what I counted it as but I'm not good with numbers

With gold fleetnames, cream band and raised fleetplates......plus open rear platform.

However the original was blue and white of course!

I'm not old enough to remember the original blue and white livery, the green came about when Bristol Corporation became associated with the bus company the livery became green and the services were known as the Bristol Joint Services.

I missed that! That is rather nice, it's a shame the 'east bristol' red isn't in the same league.
I've already said my piece - I was really disappointed by that scheme. BI usually do liveries that are innovative and eye catching like SGL or Excel. This looks like Midland Red East before they found some yellow paint (one for the teenagers there ;))

I've been told the 73 will be like the 40's but in the original BT&CC green.

Surely Carl, these will need to have a broad cream band with their green? Unless we're returning to crew operation??

Again, going back to the Citylines East livery, thought BI might have done a 21st century take on the Bristol scroll?

Hello all, haven't spoke on here in a while. Does anybody know of what has happened to First Wells' (MendipXplorer) WX59 BYO 69437. I haven't seen it since the 14th of December. It would be nice to know

It's on Salisbury to Romsey rail replacement this afternoon.

I don't know what that livery was like but sounds good, if true! Wonder if it will get a name, such as City lines north?
Two of the recent gas buses are in urban.
Didn't realise that. Of course they have occasionally delivered one bus in standard livery to act as a spare/generic one.

True that, though I was talking more about the actual urban livery, as it was when introduced in 2012, and last given (I think) on the streetlites delivered late 2014/early 2015, rather than the various colour front banded buses across Bristol, which may or may not now be coming to an end.

All now a long time ago however the Joint services (for Bristol's city services) started in 1937 and the green replaced blue, across the whole fleet, from 1945. At the time I'm sure there would have been people protesting about the new, corporate, livery being imposed from the Tilling group headquarters!

Definitely not overdue! Was never intended to send out all 44 red ones at once as it would've been impossible to get them ready in time and all in the depot at the same time.
Where did you get the 44 number from ? 42-45 and 6/7 is 38

The SGL gas buses are quoted as being for the T1 and Y1, yet there are also being quoted as being 15 of them, which is more than the PVR of those routes but less than that for all the T and Y routes combined.

Doe we know whether they are planned for other SGL routes, or is there a frequency increase planned?

I have heard both 13 and 15 quoted, so who knows.

Perhaps, 2 may he used on the Y2?

From the VOSA Bus Service registrations for 03rd March are the following changes for First in the Bristol City, Weston & Wells and Bath & Wiltshire areas, all effective 05-Apr-2020 unless stated:

Bristol City:
- 8, 9 (Temple Meads - Temple Meads): Amend timetable (wef 24-May-2020)
- 17 (Keynsham - Southmead): Amend route and timetable
- 48 (48A, 49, X49) (City Centre - UWE Frenchay / Lyde Green): Amend route and timetable on all days of operation.
- 70, 71 (Temple Meads / UWE Bower Ashton - UWE Frenchay): Amend timetable
- M3 (M3X) (City Centre - Emersons Green): Amend timetable - withdrawal of U3: no change to M3 / M3X
- Portway Park & Ride: Amend timetable
- SB1 (Soundwell - St. Brendans 6th Form College): Registered.

Bath & West Wiltshire:
- 39 (39X) (Bristol - Bath): Amend route and timetable
- D1 (Warminster - Salisbury): Amend timetable
- D1 (Warminster - Bath): Amend route and timetable
- U1 (U3) (Oldfield Park - University of Bath): Amend timetable
- U2 (R2) (University of Bath - University of Bath / Southdown): Amend timetable

Weston-s-Mare and Wells:
- 1 (Sand Bay - Weston-s-Mare): Amend route and timetable
- 5 (Hutton - Worle): Amend route and timetable
- 7 (Oldmixon - Worle): Amend route and timetable
- 20 (Weston-s-Mare - Burnham-on-Sea): Amend route and timetable
- 126 (Weston-s-Mare - Wells): Amend route and timetable
- A3 (Weston-s-Mare - Bristol Airport): Amend route and timetable
- X1, X1X & X2 (Weston-s-Mare - Bristol): Amend route and timetable

I guess both legs of the D1 will be put into one service registration with an increase in frequency between Warminster and Salisbury. Why so may route and timetable changes around Weston-s-Mare though I wonder? I guess there will be more to come and we might get some answers thereby.

Dave

Doesn't sound very interesting these Bristol changes. Though the change to route to either the 48, 48A, 49 or X49 might be interesting.

Also what happened to the new 2A service that was supposed to be introduced in April?

Well the bus that turned up today was In standard colours so you may be wrong, unless it’s a spare for the east routes.

An unexpected sighting in Bath this morning - wonder if this is the first to transfer or just a day loan?

There are 3 changes in Bath that are coming in April:

5 will be getting Wells single decker B7RLE although I'm pretty sure most people knew that

U6 will be extended to the Bus Station which boosts connection with Lower Bristol Road which should help drivers get to the depot and reduce traffic on the number 5.

The 39X will be given the branding aquae

Thanks for the updates. You're right, the Wells buses going on the 5 has been known for a while now. I may be a lone voice here, but I can't help feel those buses will be wasted on the 5, the current buses are more than adequate for a few more years in my opinion. That said there are not many single deck routes left in FWoE!

As for X39 branding, that name certainly suits the colours, though how it will fit in with the route and other promotions is curious.

The current 5 fleet probably would be adequate for a while longer but I was told they had to be replaced because of the emissions.

A nod to Aquae Sulis - original Roman name of Bath but not the first time (remember Badger Sulis?). You can just see the Roman Badger on the lower panels https://www.flickr.com/photos/micha...isC-91arbb-7jwyxk-7uL7AC-7uL7Ah-6YqKiM-7gTibC

Yep and those Eclipses are getting on now so it's not surprising anyhow but the emissions have forced the issue
