142078 is with a 150 unit on 0810 Manchester Piccadilly to rose Hill.
With 150145 and 142004 on 0740 Manchester Piccadilly to new Mills Central today.

I don't believe so haven't since 14 th February but you never know. One might do but not guaranteed.

142078 has stayed the night at southport. This should form Mondays 0648 southport to Blackburn and then the Wigan to Blackburns diagram. Unless something changes.
It looks like 142078 is a survivor to the very end on the final two diagrams. After Mondays newton Heath T.M.D to gascoigne wood move we will know how many is left at newton Heath T.M.D. I suspect 3. But that could change. See 142 withdrawals thread for today's. But at the moment it appears that the final northern 142s which where in passenger service are being sent first. To gascoigne wood. Also against my best wishes and various rail user groups. We believe the final two are better on hope valley than the mcv side . Especially as they get better use. Rather than limiting use. Ie am kirkby back in mcv 0740 and one trip pm to southport.etc

Hi all - any thoughts on the following - reading these threads I can see limited 142 use now on weekdays, and looking here these seem to be in the peak hours.
I'm thinking of a trip using a Northern £10 rover on a weekday - and I can't get to Manchester area before about 12 noon.
So what routes might be likely to still have 142s on them in the afternoon or evening (OK by me if attached to PRM compliant other classes of unit of course)?
Would it be:
Manchester - Marple / Rose Hill
Manchester - Sheffield
any others? (some around Blackburn seems possible)
Views on probable times might be handy - though I'd be prepared to go to Manchester and hang about for a bit to see what turned up potentially.
Any thoughts welcome. I realise there is no certainty now but informed guesswork from people on this thread would be appreciated!

Sadly they ended last week. There is just one peak diagram and one Wigan to Blackburn diagram throughout the day. Now.
Today is 142004 on 0533 mcv to kirkby

Should form 1736 mcv to southport.

Thanks Warwickshire - I could probably make a wigan one. That info is appreciated - realise it was posted up thread but didn't understand that 'that's yer lot' - kind of you to detail it.
Shame to miss one last chance of a trip through Edale on a 142 but never mind.

Also hopefully olr northern see sense and bring some off these back till may. Because today elsewhere cancellations on Calder valley due to no units would make sense 150 on Calder valley and 142 on hope valley. But tbh money is better spent these days on the tfws valley lines rover for 142s.
I didn't mean it that way its just I myself am annoyed with the olr decision on Monday to send x2 142 to gascoigne wood and take off use early. When they should have kept these till may. Today has seen overcrowding and cancellations on Calder valley. I would personally would have kept them on hope valley and used the 150s for elsewhere. Hopefully they might send 142 back onto the hope valley. Even iff it is just one. Because having two spare at nh is no joy. Al'so my opinion are far better on hope valley. To release others. I am just wound up about there removal. I have Also being campaigning with local rail users groups. We all don't agree with this.

Hope Valley users have been among a very small number welcoming Pacers. Welcoming them on the basis that a Pacer is better than no train at all.
40 years ago services from Sheffield terminated at New Mills, change for Piccadilly, and were at best 2 hourly. Now they're hourly but don't stop at all stations. As an example, no train out of Sheffield to Dore (the busiest station on the line before New Mills from tickets sold) for 2 hours 33 minutes in an evening, whereas it's half hourly from New Mills into Manchester. Grrr, but that's not for the Pacer thread. We'll miss them.

There was definitely a 142 on the 15:23 from Wigan Wallgate to Blackburn yesterday. The diagram is in post #1962 by Warwickshire.

Yes same off which I have just seen today. Monday only was slightly different. Tuesday and Wednesday today the Wigan to Blackburns are back to their original diagrams again. Ie this post here.

However all last week 142051 and 142045 didn't run. Before this Mondays move to gascoigne wood. Surely they could at least use the remaining 142 x2 elsewhere and use them. Ie hope valley again. Or anywhere where crewe still sign.to release 150 elsewhere again mcv 0700 to kirkby was cancelled today even more for a case. We all need to help and support each other and email etc those in power about this issue. Doudt it will be off much use. But hopefully we might get some additional ones soon.MIGHT.
