Heyo! I'm new to railforums and relatively new to buses when compared to trains!

I was wondering how people were able to differentiate between different bus chassis on the fly. Like whether a gemini 2 has a VDL DB300 or a Volvo B5LH. (It's probably something super obvious for you lot haha)

Is there a website/books supplying this info? Or could any of you help me out with your own experiences? Either way, any help would be appreciated!

Looking at the wheel hub design is a good start if there is no badges, most manufacturers use their own design of hub on all their models. A volvo B5lh is easy to spot as they have a ridiculously long rear overhang.

Try http://www.buslistsontheweb.co.uk . You can search using registration, owner or even fleet numbers to name a few.

I would agree that BLOTW is a fantastic resource, but it has limitations, eg when an operator transfers an older reg to a new vehicle, or with the likes of Park's who tend to stick their "cherished" plates on new vehicles without them ever having received "normal" registrations.

Ah yeah! I'm starting to realize some of the differences now that I wouldn't otherwise have. Thanks a bunch!
