As the title suggests.

I’ve had info from a Mid level manager, the Managing Director and a Senior Director.

But I believe some have had none.

i don't understand the question or some of the options! Also what do you mean by rail staff?

Rich, has there been any advice from your employer about the threat of the Coronavirus, are you changing methods of working, what if you go sick etc.

TOC staff, NR, Freight and so on.

got you. cheers

I have had loads. I wrote some of it for my guys ;) We have had almost non stop information from all levels from the very top down including what to do if you are ill, have symptoms, have been somewhere like Italy, if someone you live with is ill etc! The biggest problem is the changing nature of the situation that means advice given at 11:00 might be wrong by 16:00.

It has been an odd day today. Not sure i will see something like that again. Strange.

We have changed methods of working because we are able to. Blokes out on the track wont be able to. I have noticed guards saying they wont be doing tickets and will be only doing safety and doors. Cant really blame them.

Nice one. Ours changed rapidly too. I’ve sent a bit out to friends who work elsewhere, not because it’s in my remit, but because I care even if the decision makers show no interest.

We get regular email updates, nothing of note that effects drivers yet but the last one included that guards would no longer be doing ticket checks and a lot of office staff would be given the help to work from home.

Not really. Lots of updates, but also lots of mixed messaging. I suppose it doesn't help that they take their advice from government / DfT and that seems to change every day too.

I know that spare shifts (excluding train crew) are being advised to stay at home.

The most recent info from the company isn't posted at my depot, but the old info is posted randomly on a wall in an inconvenient place.

There is one hand sanitiser dispenser that was put up a week ago, but that's between 400 people.

Not one train cab I've been in in the last week has been cleaned. Our train cabs are never cleaned anyway, and having seen the methods some cleaners use I'm not sure either way whether it's bad or good that they don't clean them. I've brought some wipes in and every time I wipe the controls over, the wipe is brown by the time I've finished.

I'm disgusted at the lack of effort all round tbh.

We have been getting regular emails about state of current affairs and how its affecting the business and what to do and who to talk to if we have any kind of symptoms. Have been told anyone that isolates (self or otherwise) will not be classed as sick, will not trigger MFA and will continue to be paid as normal. Meetings have been cancelled unless urgent and office based staff can work from home if appropriate. They have also apparently ordered disposable gloves, wipes and sanitizer for front line staff. Waiting to see if we will be granted essential worker status in the event of further lock-down requirements.

May I ask what company you work for, or aren't you allowed to say?

They talk a good game but then expect us all to crowd into our tiny messroom sat shoulder to shoulder because Plymouth has no work for the next two weeks.
Seems crazy when people are being told to keep a safe distance apart, but are we allowed to go home despite having no work? No.

I've had absolutely zero from the FOC I work for. A couple of drivers I know have, but it seems to be done by individual line managers, there's no general organised effort to give us any information, so many people have heard nothing.

We are getting a daily update this week from the HR director.

Not a huge amount of info. Most of it is cut and paste from previous days. One paragraph shows staff currently self isolating, and how many confirmed cases of COVID, thankfully 0 (zero) so far.

Hand wipes and sanitizer gel have been on order for what seems like ages and are delayed because of supply issues.

Service levels were mentioned today with a watch this space.

Cabs are being cleaned with dirty rag from what I can tell, as per standard practice!

Er, I have to ask the obvious question - why is the wipe brown when you've finished? Presumably, only you and your colleagues use the controls? So, a bit of mutual respect for each other is required here otherwise it's really a case of "physician, heal thyself".

Probably because the cabs are in use 18 hours a day when the trains are in service, fitters climb all over them on depots, and the cabs are just not cleaned, other than a litter pick-up, despite claims to the contrary.

Imagine ringing a minicab and then giving it a good wipe down inside and you might understand.
