That might be why some TPE service are empty today then! But there’s a new MD now, so give it a couple of weeks and it will be sorted. And if not, no-one will notice, because they’ll all be self-isolating...

A stopped clock tells the right time twice a day.93.96% PPM yesterday
A stopped clock tells the right time twice a day.
At least one TPE line seems to be reliably producing doubled-up units. The latest TPE report for week commencing 1st March shows an improved position, but still with some way to go to achieve what passengers will consider adequate, let alone good levels of service.
Against a target for PPM of 84.8% overall, achievement was 81.46%.
North hit 84.13% against a target of 84.5%, South got 83.39% against a 90% target. Scotland did badly at 64.21% against a target of 82.5% - overhead wires down at Carlisle hit that one.
A real mixed bag of reasons - blown up ATM at Berwick being one we're unlikely to come across again!
Only 2 short forms on South Pennine, which is a barometer for how things are probably settling down elsewhere as we get our planned number of 185s into service - and by local reports they've all been open for use on the core Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield section.

True & going by yesterday Avanti still seemed capable of providing a decent service. But all those issues also apply to other operators.
Worrying time to work for TPE. If you suspect you might have CoVid -19 and are in the high risk group, you won’t get paid for self isolating apparently. Taking their lead from Atos/DWP.
Really? It depends on your T&C, of course.Complete lies. If you have symptoms or someone who lives in your household has symptoms, you should self-isolate for 7 or 14 days respectfully. During this time you would receive sick pay.
Being in a “high-risk group” has no relevance to sick pay. Anybody who falls in this category should speak to their manager to see if any relevant adjustments could be made. People who just decide to go off on the basis that “they might get it” are not entitled to sick pay. This is the Government’s advice as per RDG.
In all fairness we’re in the midst of a global pandemic, & still at a stage where it’s not yet realistic to expect any individual government let alone a meagre TOC to provide all the perfect solutionsPosted on Facebook... staff are getting worried.
I wanted to make people aware how Poorly TPE are treating their staff at such a worrying time.

We’re being told business as usual. No extra precautions have been made to safeguard their staff like there has been on other TOCs.
Plenty of extra precautions are being taken. What are you suggesting is not happening, that is happening at other TOCs? I have heard about what Northern are supposedly doing, but this is not the advice that the RDG/Government are issuing and therefore Northern are on their own.
Main points are -
Staff are still expected to carry on as normal patrolling the train, taking ticket machines and handling money. Even if you are in the vunerable category.
Why should staff not patrol the train where customer densities make it safe to do so? The safety of customers/the train is a key part of the guards role. Staff are asking customers to pay by card where possible or use ticket vending machines if they have cash.
The company have provided no hand santiser or wipes for staff and will not reimburse you if you buy your own. There is only ever cold water on the trains to wash your hands.
There is no sanitiser. Not just on the railway, but anywhere. I saw a note from Northern's RMT rep a few days ago that explained that Northern were in exactly the same situation - there is literally no stock available to order. Nova trains have hot water, Class 185s do not.
If a member of your household shows symptoms you have to finish your shift first.
If the member of the household required immediate support from the member of staff (like in the world before Corona Virus) emergency leave would be arranged. Otherwise, why should people not remain at work?
Many Trains have been sent out without being cleaned and Staff have been pressurised into taking trains out without running water.
Trains are not allowed to enter service without water and if trains do not have water, they will be cancelled.
They said staff are not classed as high risk.
Advice from the RDG and Government has not identified transport sector workers as high-risk.
