Northern Unit Refurbishments

The 150s arguably need the most work to improve the image of northern rail travel once Pacers go

A shame all companies didn't refurbish their 150s to Wales and Borders/Wessex standard a good fifteen years ago. Surely standardisation of train fleet refurbishments saves costs too.

The original 150 interiors are dire due to seat configuration and seat type

I don’t know if this has been reported but 150105 is in Crewe getting a repaint job done. Went down on Sunday on 5B42 I think.

For info 150209 has come back with PRM mods, new floor, body repairs and base repaint but no toilet.
It was out with 150201 yesterday, which has also come back with the same level of work done.

Thanks do I read that that 150 201 hasn't had the PRM bathroom fitted either.

201 did have a loo, don’t see why they would take it out and not fit another one? I understand why 209 dosent as it would have to have quite a bit of work to fit one

Northern probably have enough PRM stock to cover everything for now seeing as many diagrams are reverting to 2-car.

So could 209 get split eventually with each car moving to two different sets

Another planet...
Why is it being repainted a problem? If anything it would make the set look more uniform
It'll look uneven with one end blue and the other white... but I don't think that actually matters in any way.
With services being reduced (and the country effectively being put in "safe mode" ;) ) I doubt we'll see any significant developments for a while.
