No, it's a sym
Perhaps it's a symptom of ScotRail not having enough units or staff to run the timetable it's trying to run. With sufficient units/carriages and staff it should be possible to run the timetable with a bit more space in the turnarounds. That's a discussion for another thread though.
No, it's a symptom of only having 7 platforms at Queen St. Having longer turnarounds means trains taking up platforms for longer. Its not possible to run the current service with longer turnarounds.

They won’t have to – the new screen I pictured in post #1190 is marked High Level departures, as can be seen in the 2nd photo.
And very welcome it is too.
Unfortunately that's not going to change. Turnaround times at Queen St are typically very tight and platform info isn't shown until the cleaners have had a run through the train. It's nigh on impossible to do a clean with passengers on board so that's why it's not announced earlier.
Maybe for the E&G service but for most of the others the trains have a turn around of 15-20 minutes but still aren't called until a few minutes to go.

Update 48 now released. You can watch it in your bunker as many times as you like over the next few months after you've finished watching all your boxed sets and reading War and Peace and the Bible (which will do you more good  )

Probably the last update for a while and quite possibly my last altogether as I'm one of Boris's expendables. (What colour is a hi-risk vest? :| )
@PaxVobiscum If this is your last update until the station reopens and its safe for you and your seagull to venture outside, I'd like to thank you for all the work you've put in over the last few years, to give us the footage you've given us on the forum. :)

It was intended that the new ramp & stairs at the corner of W. George St & Dundas St (as pictured by Steven Bruce above) would be opening on Sunday morning. Looks like that might still be happening.

The twits have been moaning because they're now forced to remain outside the barriers until the platform is announced. This stops then being ignorant sods as they block the area just inside the barriers while they wait for their platform. I had hoped that it was deliberate design change and that other screens would also be placed to ensure this will continue to be the case.
As someone with a habit of doing this nowadays, it seems silly to go outside the barriers having arrived at Low Level just to re-enter them once the platform is announced. Especially during the peaks, I'm far from the only person doing that—on top of all those that just go through the barriers.

An impressively comprehensive listing. Including the once a day Fife stations and rarely served Aberdeen - Inverness stations as well.

Only issues I can see might be some occasionally misleading "next train" options which aren't the quickest option versus waiting for a later departure. Edinburgh, Haymarket, Edinburgh Park, Anniesland, Inverness would seem to be the main ones that might have this issue. Nairn, Forres and Elgin if you're willing to change trains as well.

Looks like the new entrance at the SW corner will be opening tomorrow more or less as planned, though I’m happy to be corrected if it’s actually today:

Travelling though Glasgow Queen Street tomorrow? We're closing the Dundas Street entrance until March 30th, to allow work to take place. Good news though, our West George Street / Dundas Street corner entrance will open for the first time!

Any photos (from anyone who is working at Queen Street or passing through for essential travel) of what’s happening there would be greatly appreciated on here or Twitter.

My self-isolating seagull is safe in a disused fish and chip shop and hopes to fly again when restrictions are lifted.

In most cases these boards show the next fastest train to the destination- ie the ones that will get you there soonest. But I'm less sure about stations requiring a change

Not yet open when I passed by. Pics of both the SW entrance and George Square entrance:

And looking along West George St. Pavement starting to re-appear with the curbstones in place and tarmac machines parked up:

I love it, and with that wonderful cladding it really does shine out like a shaft of gold when all about is dark.

Brilliant photos – thanks so much for doing that! I predict that you will be awarded the Order of the Seagull. :D

It was due to be opened on the 31st March but in the light of Nicola Sturgeon’s statement this morning on the radio (repeated at her press briefing) that “all building sites should close” I’m not sure how that leaves the Queen Street refurbishment. Rather a shame if work gets halted now when having another entrance open (EDIT: another two entrances now that I think about it) would actually make it safer for essential users. The main concourse and front door are so near completion I’m wondering if Network Rail/Balfour Beatty will decide to finish these bits then down tools next week.

Tbf, the new entrance that's opened today looks from the picture to be far more spacious than the Dundas st one just closed where after going through the smokers tunnel was a narrow throat into station. With only essential workers travelling, the one entrance should suffice.

As I imagine the GLQ is a NR or TS project, I'd fully hope that a government project would be the first to adhere the the FMs briefing.

Some of the pictures on twitter of construction projects in London and the canteens full of not socially distanced workers makes a mockery of the guidelines.

Great photos, scotraildriver, thanks so much for posting! Eerie to see the place deserted like that. I can’t wait to try out the new anti-gravity seating in the waiting room (if I ever get to see it finished).
Keep clear of your customers and keep well.

It is very surreal. Could hear a pin drop at 10.30pm.
