Hi all,

Im aware that Transport for Wales operate a small depot at Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey and I know there’s no allocation as such.

What sort of work is undertaken there? Refuelling I guess but anything more than that?

Many thanks

as you say there is no “allocation” of units there.

Correct re 67s and Mark3s. Is there a CWM there ?

Yes. "Holyhead" is on two sites, one parallel to the station on the down/west/south and the other (with a tiny shed and fuelling apron) is closer to Valley on the Up side, round the back of Gwynedd Shipping. The Holyhead part is much bigger but is effectively only carriage sidings, Whereas the other does do some servicing.

Ynys Món. Although on an island it is administratively part of Anglesey

Ah, the joys of Welsh local government reorganisation!

Prior to 1973 Holyhead / Caergybi was in the County of Angelsey / Sir Fon which comprised the island of Anglesey / Ynys Mon and Holy Island / Ynys Cybi as well as a few other islands.

From 1973 until 1995 it was in Gwynedd. Strictly speaaking these days it's in the "Preserved County of Gwynedd" (which has different boundaries to the local authority of the same name) but is administered by the Island of Anglesey / Ynys Mon council.

I'll get my anorak!

I managed to bunk the shed in 1967, I think the diesel 'depot' is approximately in the same location as the steam shed
