Although posted on "upcoming trips" I had not read that @Mag_seven was going on the Watford north curve
Great surprise for him to come up and tell me that he recognised my spaniel
Had a few pints in Amersham and a natter

Never fails to amaze me how you all recognise eachother. Even those I have met at meals I would struggle to put a name to, if I even noticed them out of context.

I am amazed when forum members and even railway managers come up to me and say I am gimmea50anyday. I’m like “how the flick do you know?...”

We've almost certainly met at work. But I've no idea who you are...:D

Indeed it is a small world considering the fact I could have boarded any number of other trains over the Watford north curve yesterday. If it wasn't for the presence of your four legged friend, I might not have even spotted you. :)

Ironically, me... real name, actual photo in profile on the left of each post, albeit an out of date one... hardly ever get identified! Maybe it's because most of my days out are on weekdays rather than weekends?

A group of us unexpectedly saw @yorksrob on the 1600 from Whitby.

However given Rob is one of the Whitby line's regular users maybe it's not that unexpected? ;)

I am not sure if this one counts...

From an old episode of Minder which I watched this afternoon! It made me smile.

Whilst my train was pulling out of Paddington tonight we ran parallel to another service on an adjacent line on which I spotted @cactustwirly looking out of the window- OK I actually knew he was on that train so it wasn't that unexpected but it was fun trying to spot him which I did.

I didn't see you, but I had a feeling you were on that train!

I saw @254024 unexpectedly at Leeds station a few days ago.

On a recent Summer Saturday I saw @43094 waiting for my train at Grantham; he then boarded the train and immediately said hello to another passenger who was sat near me! Some people seem to know everyone

This looks like a "near miss" between @ValleyLines142 and myself...

If he observed an overloaded bloke standing on platform 11 with two large bags of shopping by his feet and two shoulder bags, one on each side containing more shopping, when he arrived off the first train in the below quote from his post in "trains observed working" a short while ago, that was me!

I departed on 455 738 + 455 864, so I was there the whole time he was there. ( I'd arrived a few minutes before him on 455 810 + 455 828 from Thornton Heath ).

2J39 1436 London Waterloo to Hampton Court: 456005+455724+455716 (London Waterloo to Clapham Junction)
2Z43 1437 London Waterloo to Hounslow: 458521
2M39 1454 London Waterloo to Chessington South: 456002+455916+455720
2Z40 1401 Hounslow to London Waterloo: 458532
2O35 1503 London Waterloo to London Waterloo: 458503+458514
1R33 1400 Reigate to London Victoria: 377471
1R38 1439 London Victoria to Reigate: 377110
2D39 1439 London Waterloo to Guildford: 455738+455864
1H35 1251 Littlehampton to London Victoria: 377132+377146 (Clapham Junction to London Victoria)

There's not a gentleman on here who works for GWR and was taking a trip out of Leeds on a 333 this afternoon, by any chance?

I was walking to platform 14 at Man Picc earlier and heard @yorkie heading the other way say "Hi 185143".

I found it quite amusing that he remembered me by my user name and not my real name.

Haha yes, I do of course know your name but I know so many people there is often a huge time lag between me seeing the person and recalling their name!

When it comes to forum members, I do tend to be better at recalling usernames than real names, though I can struggle with numbers (but not in this case!)

Brian - I can't get that to enlarge any further? I'm clicking on the picture but nothing is happening?
