I'm not going to say it's mission impossible but I'd have guessed there's many better places to transfer a rail vehicle to road if it were a possibility other than where this was accomplished. Quiet residential roads but I'd guess still a tight fit.

HSTs had always stabled at Bounds Green - not every night but the Saturday night up Aberdeen always stabled overnight there for the first down Aberdeen on Sunday morning.

There was also one that got put into Bounds Green mid morning and then came back out again a short while later. Possibly was the stock for the 12:00 Inverness.

From memory, in as 5Y08, out as 5S16. It when went out as 3W96 during the head code changes towards the end of HSTs time on the ECML...

If we were busy at the depot, we used to just leave it at Bowes Park Rev. It was the same driver and most days the signaller did not mind.
