Yes I know, but the other thread is titled GWR ?? And this isn't, so I'm just trying to get some clarification on what assessments are done on stage 1, as not all TOC's stage 1 assessments are identical, some have extra assessment, some has maybe an assessment less.....if YOU can confirm that GWR and East Coast are identical then fine. I haven't sat any assessments for the above TOC's mentioned ,so I asked the question ....if that's alright with you

No one will fully know if they will have the additional tests etc as this is a first of its kind. Best thing to do is wait for the email as it will explain everything there!!

Stage 1 assessments (assuming they are the same as TPE, also a First Group TOC) include Group Bourdon, TRP Parts 1 & 2 and Tea-Occ. They're explained if you get the email inviting you to them, and that email will include the official practice material from the RSSB.
Thanks buddy

Received an e-mail last night just stating that due to present circumstances the recruitment process would be delayed.

Hardly surprising in these unprecedented times.

My last correspondence was also the above email.

I'm assuming nobody has heard anything since?

This is interesting, I originally missed the deadline, but I can now complete the application through the First Careers portal.

Looks like I have something to do today now!

Did you manage to complete your application? I was in the same position as you but tried to do it again yesterday and mine still says deadline missed?

It's interesting that some TOC's seem to be going down the route of apprenticeships for trainee drivers now...…………...I also note there is no information on pay for the trainee position. This is no coincidence I'm sure - does anyone know what the pay might be and am I right in assuming that apprenticeships are the latest and cheaper way of training drivers??

The apprenticeship runs along side the driving course and it’s not compulsory. The companies get given money to run these apprenticeships to give trainees other key skills but as I said, if you decide you don’t want to do it, you don’t have it or if you decide half way through the course it’s too much on top of the train driving course, you can opt out.

Just an email from an HR asking if I'm willing to relocate if successful, I assume this means they've started processing the applications.

I haven't received anything as of yet and the portal still only shows the emails I received during the application up to this point. Guess it's a waiting game til they decide 1 way or another

Hi

Which depot did you apply for?

I'm worried now as I applied new Newcastle and haven't heard anything yet

I applied to Newcastle. I was under the impression that Newcastle was the only available depot for this vacancy.

Have you passed the psychometric tests previously? I suspect that people with acceptable psychometric passes may be being advanced to the interview stage as it will streamline the recruitment process given the current Covid situation. Just my thoughts of course and I certainly could be wrong.

Yes, that's what I was worried about as I haven't done the test before.

I find it very odd that I appear to be the only one on these forums who has had a rejection email so far. I guess they thought my application was the worst of the worst :(
