Services that used to run in BR Days, POST BEECHING, that no longer run now.

This includes services which ran during the BR Days between 1965 until privatisation, you can include services which ceased after privatisation as long as they existed before then.

The title and description is very wide-ranging. Do you mean any service that ran between 1965 and 1996, or do they have to have been running in 1965?
For example, the Poole-Newcastle/Leeds service didn't run in its BR Crosscountry form until 1967 (it had predecessors though), and the XC routes to Brighton etc didn't start till around 1980.
Are we including lines closed that were NOT in Beeching, eg Swanage?

Taking the broadest interpretation:
Victoria (C) - Beckenham Jn
Through trains to Bromley N
SR Continental services...

any services that ran between 1965 and 1996. Lines closed by Beeching post 1965 but not Beeching CAN be included

Drayton Park - Broad St

You actually mean Finsbury Park - Broad Street.

Drayton Park was a London Transport station and didn't have a direct surface connection to Finsbury Park until BR took over the Northern City Line to Moorgate and diverted GN inner suburban services that way in place of Broad Street or Moorgate via Kings Cross.

I caught many a boat train from Victoria to the likes of Dover Marine, Folkestone Harbour, Newhaven Harbour, Southampton Eastern and Western Docks. There was the Night Ferry I travelled on a couple of times in the through coaches to Paris. Then there was a cross country service from Manchester to Newhaven.

I certainly miss the flexibility given by late evening and overnight services on Saturdays that no longer exist.

Through services between East and West Coastway (Seaford-Worthing/Littlehampton etc) via Brighton. Unless these were a Connex innovation under the original franchise?

The Summer Saturdays Virgin service was, I thought, a franchise commitment for the first few years and, though that doesn't necessarily mean it was carried over from BR, I think in this case it was.
Virgin possibly decided that the market for people wanting to travel from Birmingham and Coventry to Margate or Ramsgate for a holiday was limited and instead aimed at the enthusiast one by providing a variety of traction. On the two occasions I used it (and came back on the return working)it was reasonably loaded and the majority of passengers seemed to be traction enthusiasts. It may have only run for one summer with Virgin.

BR XC had many variations on (Liverpool-Birmingham)-Reading-Kensington-South Coast services in the 80s and up to 1993 I think.
Destinations included Folkestone Central (via Chatham), Dover Marine (via Ashford), sometimes a complete circle of Kent via Bromley South-Chatham-Dover Priory-Ashford-Tonbridge-Bromley South.
They eventually fixed on Ramsgate and then cut the train back to summer Saturdays, running via the WCML.
The more regular Manchester-Reading-Brighton service usually ran via Kensington but often ran via Guildford at weekends.
It even ran East Croydon-Reading via Herne Hill, Clapham Jn and Staines on occasion.
For a period an XC train reached Newhaven Marine I think, and the Manchester-Harwich ran for a spell for XC via the WCML and the NLL.
Poole (occasionally Weymouth) was a regular destination for XC services, now cut back to Bournemouth.

The Shrewsbury - York overnight/mail train was a long standing service that ended in later BR days.

Here's an obscure one for you - passenger services using the Inverness avoiding line, has this has been used since the Sprinters came into use?

I remember the Liverpool Lime St and Manchester Piccadilly services to Brighton and also Dover Western Docks, which went via Kensington Olympia. Indeed Kensington Olympia had a host of services in the mid 1980s to Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as those above. it was also the London Motorail terminal until it closed in 1981.

Sorry duplicate re Elmers End etc. That said Sanderstead no longer has the early morning stopper to Victoria.

Did anyone mention Coulsdon North?
