I’ve had this before and I would definitely check you’ve applied by trying to apply again and see if you can. Even after you submit your questionnaire there is a finish button as well which could easily be missed.

Thanks

Spoke to recruitment today. My application didn't go through. Re doing it tonight.

Hiya, might be wishful thinking but I thought I'd read an email/connect article etc saying that PRP was going to be in play for the end of July? There's every chance I misread this and the fact I now can't find whatever it was I think I read probably means I'm imagining things. Can anyone conclusively tell me if I'm right or going bonkers?

Thanks

Write your answer on a word doc then just copy them into the application form. Saves you aeons of messing about if your ap doesn't go through for any reason. I speak from highly pained experience.

There's already been some discontent from frontline staff about the delay in paying the PRP*. Especially as employee satisfaction is included as one of the measuring factors. Also bear in mind that the 'bean counters' are now withholding payment for how Network Rail did in the period from April 2019 - March 2020, and not during the current situation.

PRP*. This is the Performance Related Pay scheme operated by Network Rail. It is calculated by a number of factors.

The General Performance-Related Pay scheme is designed to:
• Reward colleagues for achieving national and where appropriate, regional targets
• Link the interests of colleagues to those of Network Rail and its stakeholders and customers
• Reinforce the company strategy and key goals of putting passengers first
• Provide an incentive to improve results and the company’s performance.

Yes I have had a look over the scale charts. But im struggling to work out what an average total would be because I dont know how many nights or sundays are on the average rota. Even if a grade 2 or 4 can give me an idea of their usual take home it would give me something to work with.
Thanks

When I was a grade 2 resident signaller my net pay was about 2400 pounds without any over time, no student loans etc and its a 24hour signal box on 12 hour roster. Bear in mind that I was also receiving outer London allowance and LAOS. With over time I was getting anywhere up to 3100 pounds after tax depending on how much overtime I was willing/able to do. Hope this helps

Yes indeed. Give your honest opinion at Your Voice and reduce your bonus - "the beatings will continue until morale improves".

I'm probably fortunate that my LOM is an 'old school' manager. A career railwayman who is due to retire shortly. He has my respect and likewise he understands his staff. Therefore, it's reflected in his individual score, and the opinion of his staff. However, you're right about the effect of a lack of morale.

Medical today! I’ve become convinced overnight, that I’ve been either hard of hearing or colourblind for 46 years, without realising it! Lol

Hope it goes well. On the hearing test, if you think you've heard a noise - press the button. Though I will say they've come a long way since my first hearing test...you could hear the trains passing by outside, even when sat in the booth with the headphones on.

Good luck Amanda08 - for the hearing test, they don't use the booths at the moment because of Covid-19 so you may find you're sat at a table instead. :)

Just a quick question. I recently applied for the North/East recruitment drive. Firstly, congrats to all those that were successful! Secondly, just wondering if anyone received a job offer for the North East Lincolnshire area. I am specifically talking about the imaginary corridor that runs below the Humber Estuary, from Immingham through Scunthorpe and as far west as Gainsborough/Retford. When I got my email update late last week it appears that I haven't really received a no or a yes. It looks as though I maybe in some sort of holding pattern until those jobs become live although the email is a little ambiguous. I have emailed the recruitment person for a bit more clarification - waiting a reply. I am just trying to figure out if there were any jobs in that area to begin with or I am part of a sort of "talent pool" for future opportunities. TIA.

Afternoon!

Hoping someone can help me. I have just applied for a job as a MOM, a role that looks very interesting. On the advert it said that an essential was a RIO and PTS qualification. Does this apply to externals? I think that I have a lot of the skills required but coming from outside the industry the RIO and PTS competencies are almost impossible to achieve. Would this be covered in the 7 week training period? Also, I can see that the salary is based on the signaller grade. Does this figure include weekends and nights or are MOM's subject to the same enhancements as signallers for theses hours. Many thanks.

Roly.

I assume it is because there weren’t any positions in this area as I’m in the same boat. I was told they would be in touch at the end of the year

Yes but I’m a non drinker and a drug free zone! So although it’s not official, I know I’m passed ok

if you fail the drugs test they tell you within about a week. If you pass it they don’t, you just get a discussion over start date. The alcohol you would have known Straight away by the breath test. .

I'm fairly sure those competencies are part of the MOM course. Someone will be able to clarify this I am sure.
Yes they get the same enhancements as a Signaller.

Could anybody clarify if I am correct in thinking the next pay day is the 24th of this month? I have tried to work it out after searching the forum and working forward every 4 weeks, thanks in advance.

Yes, the 24th July, and then every four weeks. I've added the next three pay days.
Code:
24 July
21 August
18 Sept.
