And a little reminder of the earlier clue that the birds in question wouldn’t be seen on water.

Another clue to help ....the answer station is served only by trains operated by Northern.

Not Hensall. The answer station is located immediately east of a junction.

You’re thinking along the right lines but it’s not Eaglescliffe. It is a two platform station though.

I would suggest Kirk Sandall, which is a fungal disease caused by not washing your socks.

In fact, it’s just to bring the original clue up so we don’t have to keep scrolling back. Congrats @perryman this is one of the best clues for a while: there are so many answers it could possibly be...but not quite.
