Did the "Wales and West" and "Wales and Borders" franchises have a normal livery?

I've tried to answer this question with a google image search and all I've found are class 158s in the Alphaline scheme or 153s in advertising schemes

Did more regular stock have a livery or just continue to carry Regional Railways livery?

I thought they just had Regional Railways with their name instead of the words "Regional Railways".

But an image search reveals a livery for Wales and West (with a big 'W' motif) that I've never seen!

The Alphaline livery on the 158s was silver with navy blue doors. This stayed with them until ATW started refurbing them in 2010 (ish?). Wales & West was split into Wales & Borders and Wessex Trains in 2001; W&B kept the silver/blue livery but Wessex replaced the blue doors with a mauve colour and new logo.

There were other liveries, including this experimental one:

I think the 150s/153s carried a variety of liveries, including 'Local' liveries. There was also the red-white-green-lime Valley Lines livery, which was used by the separate Valley Lines franchise, which was merged into W&B in 2003.

I actually quite like that livery. As far as I can remember it was designed by ITV's in-house graphic design company, 3Sixty Media in Manchester as a friend worked there at the time. It was nicknamed "emcompassing" as the circular symbol was meant to encompass the West of England.

There was at least one 158 in a special "Ginster" livery , as well as the attractive HoW livery on some 153's which carried some quotations from Dylan Thomas. (one of which carried his name in commemoration)

One thing for Prism Rail despite both the Wales franchises being a financial basket case they did do a good livery. Valley Lines was very nice.

A big 'W'? I can't recall seeing that either and my Google doesn't seem to find it - could you provide a link please?

Was "Alphaline" a BR brand of a Wales and West brand?
It was a BR brand originally (and I believe the copywrite/trademarks are still owned by the government/DfT - the Arriva Trains Wales franchise agreement included a license to use the Alphaline brand but they clearly opted not to make use of it) but as far as I am aware only W&W/W&B/Wessex ever used the brand as part of the external livery. I think in BR days the brand was restricted to a logo in the timetable and TV adverts but my knowledge of BR days is very limited.

There was also a silver and yellow one, although I think that was quite rare.
Silver & Yellow, would that be this one? If so, I understand from other forum discussions that the first two 158s painted in silver with the large 'A' logo had those yellow areas on the sides, after which the yellow was dropped (both units, 158745 and 746, went to Wessex Trains and had the blue doors changed to Wessex maroon). Other than 745 and 746, I cannot however find any pictures of a 158 in Alphaline blue & silver except with 'Alphaline Wales & Borders trains' on the side. I would be very greatful if somebody could provide a link to a picture with 'Alphaline Wales & West' on the side (other than the two units with yellow) as it would prove my memory isn't playing tricks on me.

Thats the one, although I only ever remember the ex-BR livered Wales and West 158s.
