No doubt this can be bettered, but Cressington in Liverpool is very narrow, particularly under the bridge.

And no, I don’t have a figure for how narrow is narrow.

I seem to South Bermondsey and Loughborough Junction being quite narrow.

Acton Bridge towards the end of platform 2 gets extremely thin considering linespeed is near enough 125 and 390's flying past you. I've uploaded a picture of it on Flickr:

There are several stations in the South East with narrow platforms such as- Ifield, Nutbourne, Southbourne and Fishbourne.

If we include the Underground, Clapham Common and Clapham North should be considered.

The 'new' platform 2 extension at Whitby is narrow, I believe it's the absolute minium required for a new platform due to lack of space because of the Co-Op boundary wall.

I seem to recall Golf Street being rather narrow when I visited though I couldn’t give a figure for its width.

Surely Combe on the Oxford - Worcester line has to be a contender - here's a pic (not one of mine)1595582401152.png

It may have gone since, but in 2017 there was one place at Gatwick with barely enough room to get between the yellow line and a platform building.

We had a similar thread a few years ago.

Concur with the poster(s) on the 2015 thread that parts of the Southbound platform at Balcombe station have always seemed a tad on the narrow side given the speed of non-stoppers on the Brighton Main Line.

The Glasgow Subway has some quite narrow island platforms, as I recall. You wouldn't want to be swaying about on one after a night on Sauchiehall Street...

If London Underground is allowed to compete - the northern end of Baker Street's Metropolitan Line platforms are pretty skinny - even more so when the extensions to facilitate S-Stock went in.

Long Preston has a VERY narrow section under the bridge, you’d struggle to fit someone in the gap between the tactile paving and the bridge.

Tutbury and Hatton is quite narrow. It is very difficult to pass anyone without stepping over the yellow line as its about 4ft from the fence.

Cressington was the one station that immediately came to mind ...

And while they might not be the narrowest in strict terms, the fast line platforms at Three Bridges, especially by the station building for the up fast, have always made me feel uncomfortable.

The platforms at Cressington originally stretched between two neighbouring overbridges. With the electrification and incorporating into Merseyrail in the 1970s these were extended through one of the bridges into the cutting beyond. They are not much more than a metre in width and I believe special dispensation had to be obtained from Health and Safety or whoever. But the original platforms, though not extra wide, are not exceptionally narrow either.

Claphams North and Common are not only narrow but, scarily, are island platforms. As I believe some of the platforms on the Glasgow subway are.

Some of the longer platforms (5/6) at Charing Cross are scaringly narrow. Also, wasn't the Tube at Camden Town very narrow (but I seem to recall that they have built new non-adjacent platforms there to address the problem (or I could be completely wrong!).

I'm sure there's a station called 'do not alight here' in Birkenhead... platform with 50cm ;)
