Probably per person if full. Eden was dying pre covid for visitor numbers. Must be on its last legs For sure now
Maybe reintroducing the E1 will help, Eden could possibly be unreachable for many at the moment without the bus link

It’s heavily restricting visitor numbers. It’s fully booked but operating at huge losses.
it’s been operating on huge losses for years in fact. Haven’t got a pot to pee in!

As the Government announced late last week 'everyone back to work' battle cry; P&R anticipated far busier peak time loadings, so put a decker on the PR1A (shuttle) and asked for spare vehicles & drivers to dupe the other runs. 2 dupe deckers each end, plus the supervisor bus & a staff taxi. Normal P&R staff running the current timetable & shuttle, so dupe drivers and vehicles on standby for 'as and when'

The Eden Project is a social enterprise owned by a charity and thus should not be making significant profits anyway. It wasn't set up for that purpose.

That's sad to hear really, although the scale of the job losses did obviously signifi that all was far from well

As with everything in this crisis, hopefully Eden will survive through to the other side

Some FK bus flags have been removed between truro bus station and treliske and some replaced with TFC flags.

but it’s making huge losses according to local media. Shouldn’t be doing that neither

33144, 33158, 33182, and 30877 all transferred to Cornwall from Bristol yesterday.
purpose unknown but at a guess school bus cover whilst the MMCs are still away

The latest set of account to March 2019 show a pre-tax loss of 0.8%, which seems not unreasonable for a company driven by social objectives rather than the need to maximise profit.

I wouldn't believe anything about company performance that comes from the local media.

A question to anyone that knows, what is happening when colleges restart are the buses going to still comply with social distance e.g. window seats only and will they need to run duplicated buses

Well how many Kernow enthusiasts thought they would ever get 30877 back after two years away? FWE took 30871/2/3/5/7 from Long Rock compound late summer 2018. You have 877 back but none of the others will return! 871 is becoming a library bus after its argument with a low bridge, 872 from WsM sold for scrap some time ago, 873 never entered service has just gone to Ensign, 875 blown engine is earmarked as another library bus and 877 carries on regardless!
Also rumours on the FWE thread of some KP51 B7TLs also heading to Kernow. These are of the 32069/70/75/76/83/96 series previously used on Bath Spa University servces in a fetching shade of dark blue and stored in Westbury Depot since March or April.

33144, 33158 and 30877 seen in Camborne today. Also here was Olympian 34258 and Gemini's 32637 & 32688 hopefully to have their "partner" paint schemes completed.

The new flags include the TFC website address but that won’t help you with information about the majority of buses on that route. Just as well that Kernow have put timetable information on most stops.

My mood improved greatly this lunchtime when, in the space of five minutes, I saw two Tinners on the T1 (one in each direction) plus the proper opentopper on the A2.

Regarding Eden, it has had huge amounts of public money given to it over the years, including much from Europe. That is not intended either as an endorsement or criticism, just stating facts. I've not been for years, and would probably find it physically challenging if I now did, but overall I'd much rather it was still there, and open to the public, than closed and rotting. Last time I was there was in the July fog (yes, really!) seeing the incomparable Brian Wilson with whichever incarnation of the Beach Boys he'd assembled.

Looks like Kernow are getting some pre-loved old deckers from First Bath. More details on First West of England thread.

regarding flags, Cornwall council banned operators from touching them 2 years ago, and told operators they’d be taking control of flags and have them sorted within 12 weeks... 2 years ago!

I wonder what for.

By my rough calculations current double deck PVR excluding open tops is no more 40, easily covered by the MMCs, Tridents and just a few Geminis. Is the amount of contract work from September that huge?

I do recall them blathering on about that.

Clearly a forerunner of things to come!

Truro college, somewhere around 33 schools, Cornwall college about 18 vehicles. Schools and Cornwall college is 51+ vehicleS we didn’t have before.
4 deckers a day on Dupes on Truro park and ride in addition to standard service.

The 6 ex Bath Spa Uni deckers would be perfect for that as they've were refurbished with Wifi and USB.
