Reading the description of one of the photos of the new 70 Plate E400 MMCs on Flickr, all the 70 plate buses unfortunately have dealer stock interiors as well to give a uniform fleet

Which for me is a real shame, not only does it give a less quality traveling experience but the management have missed a significant opportunity to sell the company to skeptics, the high spec interiors of Kernow's MMCs and SRs have done wonders to the company's reputation, so would of certainly improved TfCs if they followed their example

Hopefully they will realise their error and retro fit them one day

Surely the dealer stock interior also goes against the plan of having USB power sockets / wifi on each vehicle too? This operation certainly has some of the most inconsistent interiors going, with the ex FK vehicles probably being the best.

Certainly very underwhelming compared to how it was sold in press releases, especially on routes like the 93 and 95 where they replaced high spec MMCs, although still an improvement where they replaced old Solos and Darts

USB points and/or WiFi are bog-standard fittings these days. It's quite something for new vehicles to not to have either of these!

So I wonder for the umpteenth time, where's this high quality we were promised?

Bustimes.org seems to have almost randomly split Cornwall operations between Transport for Cornwall and Plymouth Citybus, which is making it rather difficult to find timetables! 16 Penzance to St Ives is listed under Plymouth Citybus, whilst 16A is under Transport for Cornwall! In fact it appears most alphanumeric services are TfC whilst the numerical equivalent is PCB. Very confusing!

Indeed and I don't think either TfC or CC know, although I'm personally still a big fan of ADL and the MMC range, the lack of facilties is very disappointing in 2020 and as you say after the hype that they have been given so far

For me using dealer stock interior doesn't convey to the travelling public that you're here to stay, that you're just here for the 8 years and then see what happens, even if they lose the contract I'm sure the majority of the buses will find use in the Go-ahead group somewhere anyway, so the group won't lose money like Kernow didn't after spending money on a high spec interiors just 2 years for the MMCs, and a year for the SRs before losing the work

Unlike the 20 plates, they had the time and money to really make something of the 70 plates and to give the high spec Kernow interior a run for its money, unfortunately they didn't grasp that potentially game changing opportunity for TfC, its staff and customers

If I buy a day ticket for Zone 4 in Plymouth I can use it in Cornwall and Plymouth, but the Cornwall day ticket is not valid in Plymouth, despite being the same price. Not sure what is sold on the 11 for example as I assume you can by a zone 4 pass as far as the Tamar Bridge but only the Cornwall version the other side, which then can't be used in Plymouth? Or can you buy a Zone 4 pass anywhere in Cornwall, in which case what's the point of the Cornwall only ticket? Reminds me of similar issues between Damory, Salisbury Reds and More when W&D was split so i guess they do have history.

"Management team with 500 years of experience now driving the Cornish bus network

A remarkably experienced team with more than 500 years of knowledge between them has been assembled to steer the new Go Cornwall Bus services.

The management team of Go Cornwall Bus is responsible for delivering services across Cornwall, running buses the length and breadth of the county.

This year Cornwall Council awarded an eight-year contract to Go Cornwall Bus, to operate the local bus network across the county including many community routes that would otherwise not be commercially viable.

That equates to nearly half of all bus journeys made in Cornwall – a huge undertaking.

Such an epic task needs a team to match and a network of highly experienced managers are now in post across the county with a main base in Truro.

Go Cornwall Bus is part of Go South West – which includes Plymouth Citybus and is part of the wider Go Ahead Group, meaning Cornish buses now have unprecedented support and experience from even further afield.

Managing Director Richard Stevens said: “I’m delighted to introduce the team that will be responsible for making sure you enjoy the best possible bus journeys in Cornwall.

“Buses are such an important part of the fabric of life in Cornwall. I myself once worked as a bus driver in this beautiful county many years ago and I know first hand how vital they are.

“So, in order to provide the best service possible we need a highly experienced team to deliver it. That’s why we’ve placed such great importance on creating your local management team based in Truro bursting with knowledge and people you can trust with your buses.

“We calculated that between them they have a remarkable 509 years of experience in operating buses!”

The Go Cornwall management team are:

General Manager – Darren Hewlett

Operations Manager – Mel Williams

Service Delivery Coordinator – Caroline Spurr

Network Control Manager – Michael Gomes/ Sheldon O’Moore

Service Delivery Manager Newquay – Laurence Mayhew

Service Delivery Inspector Newquay – Kevin Foster/Thomas Bradshaw

Service Delivery Inspector Scorrier – Simon Hooper/Craig Shipley

Inspector in Charge Helston – Daniel Glass/ Bobby Robinson

Service Delivery Manager Liskeard – Andy Stevens

Service Delivery Inspector – Liskeard – Dave Clemens/Steve Hart

Inspector in Charge – Bodmin – James Grose

Relief Inspector in Charge Bodmin – Robbie Aitken

Inspector in Charge – Launceston and Bude – Louise Stephens

Service Quality Manager – Paul Pollard/ Chris Mitchell

Customer Experience Manager – James Church

The team place a great amount of importance of the wellbeing of their people, so you can be confident your drivers, engineers and all the teams associated with Go Cornwall Bus are being given the best possible support.

Plymouth Citybus was last year awarded Investors in People Platinum Accreditation – a rare accolade only handed to organisers who treat their teams with the very highest standards. Those same values are very much embedded in the new management team and across Go Cornwall Bus and Go South West.

If you would like to contact a member of the management team, you can do so via the Contact pages.

On 1135 08 plate citybus (139) from Camborne to Helston and it has a chunk cut out if the front. Driver also couldnt read my ride Cornwall around his plastic floppy screen and even when he did read it he asked where I was going with my plus bus ticket! Citybus poppy E400 (521) on the 45 totally empty.TfC inspector in the bus station. Surely the plastic sheet could at least be taped not just blowing in the breeze?

No sorry. On 36 now to Truro and driver said Ride Cornwall only valid on First. When I argued he let me on. It's the 1527 from Helston Sainsburys and it was parked in ready to go from Seven Stars at 1525 where we just left at 1534 on time from. 1520 36A from Seven Stars still sitting there at 1533 and has been since I arrived in in it at 1519 so dont know why it's late. That's a 20 plate dealer stock with a learner driver. My 36 is an E400 with seats not in great shape.

Just left Helston School and I am the only passenger and most other buses were barely busy except the two U4 extras to Perran and Penryn which were half full or so. The bus is now playing radio through its speakers. Britney Spears as we pass by Poldark Mine lol!

Well, blow me down with a feather! Full TfC timetables for the Market Jew St westbound stop are up, in a coherent order. Now here's what I gleaned from the 5 timetable. Last journey on basically an hourly service Pz to Sheffield is 21.35, except on Saturday when there is a 23.35. But wait, that is allegedly not the final journey on that day of the week: it is followed by the 23.50, such is the tremendous desire to travel to Newlyn and Paul late on Saturdays!! Tell you what, if I was a potential passenger I'd make damned sure I was at the stop for the 23.35, because please tell me it's a howler.

The correct version is last bus 23.35 Mon-Fri and 23.50 Sat.

Paul and Sheffield now have a bus around an hour later than Mousehole, because the last return journey on the M6 was never reinstated post-lockdown.

I took a photo of that When I was on service work, and thought at the time it was a PG9...
140 has a questionable metal plate riveted to front near side corner, and 138 has the offside front corner rebuilt with what looks like some form of child’s plasticine!
I haven’t done any service work (I’ve moved across to contract work) since the Saturday of August bank holiday weekend so it’s been like it at least a month.

Now I'm thinking about it, I think I may have been precipitate in saying all the timetables were there - I don't believe the 16s to Roscadghill Parc feature yet.

Helston Tesco showed all Kernow services including the L1, but only some TfC excluding city services and most others. The 33 is also the old 353 timetable. Very poor.

After being stuck in the lizard this morning due to a college bus breakdown we were looking to get a tfc bus for the first time so we looked for a printed timetable.
Did we find one? No
The only thing there was a tfc covid 19 reduced timetable stuck over the top of the kernow previous one, but the timetable only said what they are doing there was not a single time on it not even a covid 19 timetable so what you meant to do guess.
Even more luckily I knew the buses were hourly to the village bit after looking online they dont start to be hourly till 8:45 so were here stuck in the rain at 7am

All the more hopeless when you consider that the Covid-19 timetables finished in late May, when the full timetables were introduced.

Don't recall any TfC timetables in Camborne bus station and also not sure how you work out where your bus goes from except using Google as even the online TfC timetables don't have bays on them and the bus station had no signs anywhere (unless I missed them). There were timetables and flags (not at full height) on the stops next to Camborne rail station for the 45 though.MOst other stops I passed just had the default covid message and no timetbales of any description. They also don't put route numbers on any flag that I saw.

Also, how hot are those OTS minbuses in summer as even yesterday it was tropically hot on the 33, even with the driver window fully open?

It's actually the other way round 23.35 Saturday and 23:50 Monday to Friday. The timetable on the website has a near identical shade of blue dot for both (Monday to Friday is slightly darker) I can't believe this conforms to any sort of accessibility guidelines.

It's hard to see online, but imagine what it will look like on a bus stop once weathered for a few months. Why can't TfC just use letters not colours as how someone colourblind has any chance god knows.

You're right. The only minor variation in shades of blue is ridiculous. It certainly doesn't demonstrate "over 500 years of experience".
