I visited Hever on the Uckfield line and noticed the engineering poster stated that the Rail Replacement Bus Stop was a twenty minute walk away. Are there any stations whose RRB Stop is further? I believe Cowden is about the same.

Extra points if passengers are likely to have to walk past the bus stop to validate their ticket (as at Hever, if using Southern KeyGo).

NB: I'm posting this as it made me smile, and not as a criticism. The local roads may not be useful for running buses.

Indeed. But do they actually have Rail Replacement Buses? Or Land Rovers, Sleighs, Horses? I was thinking more of advertised replacement Transport, rather than no transport at all.

What are the arrangements at Dent? Hard to imagine a bus getting closer than 3-4 miles

On Longcross they give up, they close the station on days when there are rail replacement buses. Presumably there must be some sensible place to stop in the large adjacent housing estate?

Nutfield replacement bus stop is on the A25 rather than at the station which is about a mile walk (although a separate bus has sometimes run from Redhill to the station).

Some steep gradients out of Dentdale, past Dent station, and then up and over towards Garsdale. Can't imagine it would be all that feasible during winter months (when there might well be icy conditions).

If I remember correctly RRBs skip Dent. Passengers for Dent are asked to contact Northern for a taxi.

Cowden Cross is actually marked as a station on Googlemaps - I remember being startled when I first "saw" it on my map as I approached! It is a mere 0.7m from the station which really is in the middle of nowhere, and the bus stop isn't much better.

Not in the same league, but for years RRBs couldn't get nearer than 1/4 to Ravensbourne - a short section of Crab Hill past the station was in Lewisham Borough, who (supposedly) wouldn't pay for it to be made up, the roads either side being in Bromley.

Three Oaks and Doleham are both situated over a mile along a narrow country lane off the A259 Hastings- Ashford road. In the past the substitute buses stopped on the main road in the hamlet of Guestling Thorn to serve both stations where the road forked off in different directions to serve the stations. An unusual situation where one bus stop serving two stations....! I am not sure whether the situation has changed recently.?

Perhaps a variation on this theme could be: which RRB bus stops are much better located than the station which they replace? Winchelsea (New Inn), replacing Winchelsea Station (which is about half a mile from the 'town') is my offering. The RRB stop is - as its name suggests - conveniently located right next to the pub in the middle of Winchelsea.

Clearly not the furthest but in North London the Crouch Hill RRB stop is on Hornsey Road, a good 10 minute walk along Shaftesbury Road, which feels far for such an urban area.

There's no way for buses to get across from Crouch Hill to Hornsey Road. As a pointer as to the alternative, due to roadworks on Hornsey Road, 210 buses are currently diverting on a hugely convoluted route over Crouch Hill, all the way down to the roundabout on the other side of Crouch End, then back up to the top of Hornsey Rise to regain their normal line of route. Probably a three mile round trip to avoid a closed section around a quarter of a mile in length.

The Rail Replacement Bus stop for Avoncliff during planned engineering works is in Westwood village. From the station, this requires a walk over the canal aqueduct in order to cross the River Avon, then underneath the same aqueduct and then a walk up a steep hill on a narrow lane out of the valley up to Westwood. This is because the lanes to Avoncliff on both sides of the river are unsuitable for large vehicles. In terms of scheduling the replacement road transport, Freshford is also accessed from Bradford on Avon via Westwood (to the south of the river), whereas Avoncliff station itself is isolated from Freshford on the north side of the river.

Short notice alterations tend to see taxis used as they can turn around next to the station entrances on the north side of the River Avon.

Crowhurst, when RRBs operate, gets a minibus that connects at (I think) Battle with the main RRB that runs from (for example) Tonbridge to Hastings. Are there other cases where it is necessary to get two RRBs in a row?

Dent, I'd say. It's nowhere near anything. Whereas Hawes Market Place (the substitute) is in a small town for which the service would actually serve a purpose.

In London, I don’t think Berrylands ever gets a RRB, it always says use the K2 service bus to Surbiton, so nearest a rail replacement bus stops are about mile and half away (both Surbiton and New Malden). Actually Norbiton may be slightly closer along an unlit path.

From memory, Strawberry Hill RRBs are probably furthest away from a station in London region

Bentley (Hampshire) gets a minibus service from Farnham to Bentley village. Beaulieu Road gets no service during times of rail replacement.

Hawes is not, so far as I know, a rail replacement bus stop for rail replacement services from settle to Carlisle. It’s a location that has occasional bus services that occasionally appear (summer only?) in rail data.

Chapel en le Frith rail replacement stop is a mile away from the station and is actually more convenient for Chapel en le Frith town than the station is.

The villagers at Cowgill might disagree! It does have a church, a pub/inn, and a brewery (I'm a fan of Aviator), and possibly more red squirrels than people! Dent station's less than a mile from the local bus stop (I'm sure Northern have provided a RRB at least once), but it's the 400ft height difference from the valley bottom to the station that's more of a problem
