No one hanging out as it passed Bedford cam on railcam..going into LondonThreatening termination of the train at Bedford due to window hanging on the 1144. Some people just done listen. Supposedly some BTP have boarded too
Police did board. Good to see people following the rules...nowNo one hanging out as it passed Bedford cam on railcam..going into London
Glad you got a trip in! Looks like it was early into St P despite the work / any antics on board. All well overall hopefully.Police did board. Good to see people following the rules...now
Going real slow around Hendon and Cricklewood. A lot of engineering and long trains of what looks like dirt trucks.
If they're still running by then...I’m hoping to do the last HST on the 15th, from Sheffield to Leeds.

Yes we got in about five minutes early. Despite the increasingly cross announcements about window hanging there was little delay and saw people taking pictures from car parks road islands and farms and probably as many train enthusiasts aboard as commuters/tourists. Overall a good experienceGlad you got a trip in! Looks like it was early into St P despite the work / any antics on board. All well overall hopefully.
This was really frustrating. I was on the 1752 - arrived at Plat 6 in Nottingham when we were told to go to Plat 7, and an HST came in - but as soon as I'd got on was told it was being withdrawn from service. A disappointed train manager on the 1752 explained that it was enthusiasts' behaviour. There were a lot of enthusiasts at Nottingham station with cameras at the front of the train, and sadly I think without extra staff pulling this from service was inevitable. 1752 quite busy, all pairs of seats taken in my carriage with people standing - and enthusiasts with cameras walking down the train occasionally too.Due to the behaviour of enthusiasts on board HSTs today 1B68 1752 Notts to St Pancras is now 222005 with NL58 being sent ECS Nottingham to Etches Park.

Think is there was a lot going on on MML yesterday - including possibly displaced LNER passengers and works in Thameslink territory adding more than usual at Bedford and Luton Airport. But as the HST went to the depot before the 1752 departed, some clearly came over and boarded ours back to London/South. I didn't see exactly how many but if all the enthusiasts that were on the HST on the way up were on ours that would explain some of the loadings for sure. Was the busiest journey I've had in a long time.Did you get any impression of what proportion of the busyness was due to enthusiasts versus displaced normals ?

Perversely, cancelling the HSTs and running Meridians instead might leave *more* capacity for diverted passengers if it means that people don't travel just for a farewell trip. With a lot of LNER trains out of service (I assume) lots of travellers need the EMR fleet to be in service, so people need to behave with regards to that. Some people simply have to travel eg vital work or to get to see a very ill relative for example. Lets hope people do not make an already hard situation worse.
There are more than enough LNER Azumas running today for people not to need to divert to EMR. Passenger loadings are still far lower than normal.Perversely, cancelling the HSTs and running Meridians instead might leave *more* capacity for diverted passengers if it means that people don't travel just for a farewell trip.
Sorry - I can't answer this but occurs to me that there may be a decent chance those power cars will be on the Branch Line Society / 125 group run on thurs 13th? (I am making a guess here)I was intending to have a trip to the MML to see 43102/43274 today, but they are being prepared for a filming day tomorrow and are not out. As I am not too concerned with riding them, I thought that I might move my trip to tomorrow instead, to see them on the filming day. Does anyone know if they will be out on the mainline as part of the filming day, and if so, where would be a good place to see them?
