That completes the renumbering of 170518 to 170523 to 170618 to 170623.

The latest issue of Modern Railways (in the same article about EMR getting the TfW's 170s) states that XC "...are seeking and additional 170 to operate a new peak hour service between Cambridge and Peterborough... "

Especially as Greater Anglia have recently had an absolutely massive expansion of their diesel fleet, so should easily be able to find a spare unit.quite apart from anything, shouldn't a local service like that be a local operator concern?
It seems to actually be about making the very first service to Cambridge from Peterborough an hour earlier, maybe about 0615. So it would still be a service on the XC route, just a short working, they mention it being formed from a portion of the first westbound service from Cambridge. Presumably on arrival at Cambridge it would head to Stansted in the normal path.quite apart from anything, shouldn't a local service like that be a local operator concern?
