I was thinking of phoning them but since it's been brought up on here I'll ask: do Lothian/East Coast Buses/Lothian Country only offer full-time driving roles? Or is part-time available too?
I believe its only full time. At least, no-one has said anything about part time at any point in the application process to me.
Might be worth heading along to one of the road shows if you're interested.

There's very limited part time rotas, I believe it's only semi-retired drivers that do it (single digits in terms of rota lines on single/double deck I think). So full time only.

Does anyone know why LVF keeps showing the wrong route numbers for Lothian and is there a certain pattern to the errors?

example here of 925 tracking history https://lvf.io/#LRT|fullhist%925
No clue why it's caused, I only know the numbers jump in two per route (thus making it a pattern) - so 1 = 1, 2 = 3, 3 = 5, 5 = 7, etc. Only some withdrawn routes are skipped, otherwise most are part of this incorrect route number pattern.

Hi everyone. Has anyone else noticed the Wright badging is missing in part or in full on certain members of the Streetdeck-style Gemini 3 fleet? I've seen a few running without them lately and I was wondering why.

No clue, but I did see one of them fairly recently out of service presumably moving to Newbridge (I believe it was headed in that direction?)
Wouldn't be surprised if Lothian kept one of them for occasional work where an open-topper is needed, could be painted in FOTF like how the Tridents were painted in the corporate livery for a while before retiring. Existing fleet of Gemini 2s would ensure a large spares base.

So are you suggesting some of them are going to be withdrawn? 253/256 according to Quack77 are listed as at Lothian still but 251-252/254-255 are up for sale at Ensign

I do find it strange how very few (if any) major operators offer part time driving positions. Given the massive problem this industry has and has had for years with recruitment and retention, you’d think it would be in their interest to be as flexible as possible in order to attract the wisest range of candidates.

I'm not suggesting anything, and I have no inside knowledge, so to speak, but if they were withdrawn I wouldn't be surprised if they kept a few to fill the same role as several Dennis Tridents did for the past few years - team buses, events and sponsorship, depot tours, and other limited-time work. My reasons for this are in the above post.

It's not new unfortunatley, been happening for most of the existence of the fleet.

Don't use the Quack77 site as a source for information, anyone can update the fleet lists on the site without even needing to sign up, as such it's highly inaccurate.

By the way the StreetDeck style Gemini 3 is known as the stealth design I believe

It is, especially the Ensignbus sales list

This seems like very bad design, I can't see why they would choose to go for something that evidently can be knocked off the front with little force.
They've probably came off when the bus has been going through the wash, it's not uncommon for the brushes to cause minor damage at times if not set up correctly, i highly doubt they'd come off while the bus is on the road.

Throughout my years wandering this land, there have been vehicles being driven round without badges, be they cars, buses or lorries. It's a cosmetic addition that falls off, gets knocked off and, on occasion, nicked. Those of us over certain age will remember there was a craze for acquiring Volkswagen badges, and when there were none of those left, other marques were targeted!

Either way, it's not worthy of in-depth discussion here. :)

Are the brushes meant to be set up differently for different types of buses? As in, a stealth gemini 3 needs a different setting to regular gemini 3s? Interesting if that is the case.

20947 is displaying an ‘on hire to Lothian Country’ piece of paper stuck on underneath the side display. Is this a sign of things to come perhaps?

Will the new E400 MMC Batch replace the 3xx Gemini 2s? Surely they must be the oldest vehicles in the fleet now, with some being 2009 registered?

301-304/308/309 are already withdrawn so the rest of the Marine based SN09s are likely to get directly withdrawn.
