More than likely providing carriage heating / shunting duties - don't forget that both 046 + 055 are at Eastleigh Works for further modifications at the moment.

Speaking of Eastleigh Works, the GMPTE Pacer has exited the Paint shop :

Imagine the pacers will be out on driver/crew training predominantly to free up locos for maintenance and offer better space on board as not sure what passenger work could possibly be being considered unless they are planning scenic ramblers specials in the North to serve those ferret owning riff raff types priced out of the usual high end trips. Originally a heritage bubble car was to be used on this duty but that's not been ready for use as yet.

LSL have terminated their contract with the CFPS.
The reason why you are asking? 'Social media comments'.
This has come from the chairman of the CFPS apparently.
I'm not sure what has gone on but the only clue I can find is on the friends of the CFPS FB page on New Years Eve.
We were asked this morning by the Chairman of the CFPS to close down this group. This is due to some comments that have been posted over the past few months causing concern to the CFPS and its operating partners.
The intention of this group from the outset was to encourage people to join the CFPS and where possible raise funds for the upkeep of three remarkable locomotives. Whilst in the main we have achieved that stated aim, It was never the intention for the page to be used to debate CFPS strategy and decision making.
It is therefore with regret that the group will go into archive from the 1st January 2022, allowing time for group members to have the opportunity to see this post. Many, many thanks for your support in recent times, especially those who are now fellow members of the CFPS.

A chunk of the membership of the CFPS weren't too happy with the arrangement and it's started getting played out publicly. Rather similar to the situation with various football clubs towards managers and owners in terms of the divide of opinion among members who haven't always appreciated various decisions and the LSL rules/ways of doing stuff. It's essentially the polar opposite to what they are used to via the like OF Pathfinder, SRPS etc in previous decades. I'm not a member although know or have known various ones over the years but it's each to their own and I am not going to give an opinion here about it.

GMPTE livery 142003 at Eastleigh Works has been attacked by graffiti artists
That's a pity. I wonder whether the perpetrators travelled down from Manchester specially. Previous court cases have involved 'tag artists' travelling the length and breadth of the country by car with all their paints and other equipment in the boot. Doesn't say much for the security at Eastleigh Works.

70000 Britannia is on the road today to the Severn Valley Railway, for a month of testing and shake-down running.
It's supposed to return to Crewe under its own steam.

Artists? These people who carry out graffiti are certainly not artists! They are simply mindless vandals who have no respect for the property of others.

This is (allegedly) the DRS Class 20s 20302 and 20305, plus DRS 37 37067 (37703) heading to Crewe, in convoy with either additional 20s or 37s. DRS have apparently sold the 'Choppers' to LSL.

The accuracy of Facebook gen will be tested on Friday!

These are the inbound loco workings it would seem:

The convoy of four 20s plus 37703 ran today. 37703 is apparently going to Harry Needles rather than joining the LSL fleet.

I guess 37703 will need to be hauled anyway, probably to Barrow Hill, but wonder if it's brakes are fit for the main line. It was nicely sandwiched by four class 20s on it's trip from Bo ness.

Morning, I see the LSL are providing traction for the Settle & Carlisle circular on Saturday.

Does anyone know what 47s are allocated to it please?

So the "artists" (in the loosest terms) gain access to Eastleigh where their is a multitude of units stored, purely to attack a GM liveried 142?

Why the 142?

It's common for vandals to pick out something shiny and pristine over something that is a shell or wreck so the 142 isn't such a shock.

Because they want their work photographed and shared without them having to do it themselves. I actually believe it is part of their 'game' as they compete with the like minded idiots who think it is ok to damage other people's property in this way to see who can get their 'work' shared and viewed the most. They know the shiny looking trains will garner the most interest compared to ones falling apart on the scrap line and every time someone in the enthusiast community shares the photo, it is a win for the cretin who caused the damage

Is this a closed group? I’ve never heard of it before!

It's not my group and is closed. They ain't keen on new joiners either due to people who've clicked send before thinking what they type on too many occasions. The main admin can be a real grump too and barely speak to him these days so it's not worth me trying to get more people onto it sadly. Most of the posts on there are just GBRF emu drag allocations so I've got it set not to receive notifications any more (just check occasionally). Many people stopped posting too now as there's a tendancy for a few on there to jump on anyone who posts anything that turns out to not be true or they disagree with.

Morning, just wanted to bump this to see if anyone knows what traction is allocated to it tomorrow

593 and 810 just confirmed on the unfriendly ish WhatsApp group!
