Take it that it's NOT possible to successfully claim Delay Repay (for a 30+ minute delay) from Northern following the cancellation of this particular train, as it was presumably cancelled some time in advance of running.

(My tickets, from Chorley to/from Arnside, were only purchased at or around midday on the day of travel).

It's entirely possible to claim, but you may not get anything.

Edit to add that the timetable history website shows no indication that it was a planned cancellation.

A decent chunk of Man airport to Blackpool north services were cancelled on Saturday.
When I asked one of the Northern staff, he said they were moving staff for services to Liverpool (for aintree)

The DelayRepay rules state that your entitlement is based on the Published Timetable of the Day, which is that available at 22:00 the night before.

I do not know whether your train was in that timetable, nor how to find out, but others may.

The train was in the published timetable. It was cancelled in DARWIN. I don't know the time of the cancellation, but the timetable data from the previous night definitely shows it.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll send in a claim to Northern and see how I get on.

As there has been nothing to indicate that Northern are relying on "the published timetable of the day" for handling delay repay, there should be no problem in any event.

Update:

RTVs received today from the "Customer Experience Centre" in Sheffield.

(Had asked for a Complimentary Travel Voucher, but no matter!)
