Before COVID, there were 2 services on a Saturday morning leaving Leeds for London within 2 minutes of each other in different directions to different termini.

The 0738 East Midlands service to St Pancras via Wakefield Westgate and Sheffield, and
the 0740 LNER service to Kings Cross (ex-Skipton) via Hambleton, first stop Doncaster

22:57 Birmingham New Street to Worcester Foregate Street and 23:00 Birmingham New Street to Worcester Shrub Hill (if you want to be pedantic re. same station call, they both call at Droitwich Spa).

The former runs via Galton Jn and Kidderminster (crew diversionary route knowledge) and the latter via University.

14.15 Saturdays Doncaster to Peterborough via the joint line. 14.19 LNER (Leeds/KGX). Several others SX within 10 minutes of each other
Say train 1 is leaving station A at 12:00 for station B. It is a fast train. Train 2 leaves at roughly the same time and is also going to station B but as it is stopping will take longer. Are there any real life examples of this, where two or more trains going to similar places (not necessarily final destinations) leave at very similar times?

One example from the 80s at Waterloo was the xx18 semi-fast to Portsmouth and xx20 stopper to Portsmouth immediately after (both on the fast lines to Surbiton at the time). The latter would be looped at Guildford for the xx48 fast to overtake, and would arrive perhaps 40-45 mins after the xx18 semi-fast.

Clapham Junction to London Waterloo.
And vice versa. Occasionally there are 3 at the same time e.g. at 0913 today on platforms 3, 5 and 10. Two of these are on the Windsor Lines platforms so it must be possible for there to be 4 at the same time but I can't find a time today where this has happened.

From Leeds, the xx45 TPE service to Huddersfield and Manchester stations is followed by the xx47 TPE stopper to Huddersfield. Howver, they sometimes depart at the same time, the stopper crawling out of the platform while the express gets to speed. I assume this is something to do with delay attribution, as I've seen the xx15 LNER service heading out at the same time as a delayed xx11 XC service (both going to Wakefield Westgate), and the LNER service getting as far as the lights at Leeds West End before stopping.

The Portsmouth Direct Line does seem to be a hot spot for these sorts of services...

This is a close call - London Waterloo with Shepperton trains each way round the 'loop'.
