RTT suggests the 0935 Swansea - Manchester Piccadilly was formed of seven coaches from Shrewsbury, consisting of three 153s sandwiched between two 150s.

I’m assuming this is a data error as I think this surpasses the number of Sprinter cabs permitted on a passenger run.

I saw a photo of it on social media at Shrewsbury as a 7 car, but I don't know how far it actually ran like that. That formation would have 10 cabs which is the limit at TfW for Sprinter cabs.

Ran to Manchester and back to Crewe then the rear 153+150 got detached to go back on the local, was a little chaotic!

Thanks. I find formations like this fascinating.

The Fishguard Hbr Cardiff Central service (3 hours) is sat at Swansea… I’m standing opposite it.

1 carriage 153921, so no toilet.

Edit: OK, a pair of more 153s has just shuffled in and is on that service instead, my mistake. God, I hope 921 isn’t left for the Heart of Wales line then! I assume it will form the 1101 to Fishguard Hbr.

They attach/detach throughout the day. I've never seen a 153 without a toilet running any long journeys.

Booked to do that to cycle the Heart of Wales unit, on genius it looks like a pair comes from Carmarthen and splits, the /3 goes onto the Heart of Wales then the one off the Heart of Wales connects to the /9 left behind to form the Fishguard.

has there been any developments re the 4 153's that went to landore in may
I did hear in a YouTube video that they are planned to be converted to cycle units similar to the ones in Scotland. Not sure if this is just wishful thinking or its actually a planned project. If they are focusing the 153's on the Heart of Wales then this would work well
