Query about Saturday's Pendo Drag

Just a query as to what is going on here because when the drag left me @ Crewe at 10:50, it had 57315 dragging 390046 but when it got to my brother at Llandudno Junction, he;s on holiday, it changed to 57313!

Now I deffo saw 57315 and have the proof for it ad he deffo saw 57313 with the saw Pendo unit and has prove so can anyone shed some light on what happened please?

When he saw it at Llandudno was it the return it had a loco change at Holyhead.

No, he saw it going to Holyhead as 313 and he saw it coming back as 313

Taking this a little sceptically, but giving you a chance to redeem yourself:
1. Can you post the proof that you say you have of it being 15 when you saw it?
2. Does your brother have any proof (photos, video?) of his claim?

Given the "Virgin Voyager running an XC service" "mystery" (it wasn't) and the eight car pendo that never was, you can understand if we're a tad suspicious. You've hardly shown yourself to be the most reliable of witnesses, but I'm sure we'll all give you a chance.

Give the guy a break. If there was no change, it's just a case of misidentification, which I know many enthusiasts have done before.

Loco swap was done at Holyhead no doubt. Happens almost every week.

Give him a break on the Voyager one. He admitted it may not have been a service train in the end. So that seems to be ok. Easy mistake to make, but he did admit he may have been wrong about it being on a service train.

That seems to be the working hypothesis, but unless some one was at Holyhead and can confirm the loco change......

Hs exact working from my facebook page james reads:

when it passed rhyl it was the blue one going to holyhead and then i was this loco at Llandudno junction going back to crewe and its always the same loco there and back!!

To which I then replied to him:

I wonder then if they changed it at Chester because this left late and they looked like they were messing around with the Dellner but this was deffo the Pendo drag yesterday

To which he then said back to me:

thay will not move it un less it is safe

To which I then replied back to him:

Realy don't know what happened then, it left us as 57315 and 390046 but it gets to you and it's 57313 and 390046

But you've both seen the proof, we both have the same Pendolino on the same drag on the same day but different locos, so I'm kinda drawing a blank here

No. Its quite simples!
As has been mentioned, they swap the locos at Holyhead. Your brother has said that at Rhyl he saw 315 heading Westbound, but then later in the day he saw 313 heading Eastbound. He mistakenly thought that at Holyhead all they did was run the same loco round, so assumed 315 had been swapped for 313 heading Westbound somewhere.
But as has been mentioned, it would have been swapped at Holyhead.

Make sense?

Its just a case of your brother mistakingly assuming that the same loco that arrived into Holyhead, then took it back to Crewe again. If someone looks on the WAG express this week, you will probably see 315 on it somewhere.

No, IPT has previous on not reacting well when people talk to him like dirt. Remember at the time everyone was calling him a liar etc, nobody had any proof either way regarding the 8 car pendy. You lot were just going on the fact nobody else had mentioned an 8 car flying around.
If you perhaps had been nice about it, then nobody would have been getting upset. A lot of you were just as bad as IPT was.

Um, there was proof there wasn't an 8 car 390 when TRUST, and service an fleet information was checked. That's a lot more proof than he gave us!

I just think that some posters are getting a bit tired of the rather inconsequential yet sensationalist nature of some of IPT's threads, and when such inconsequential things turn out to be incorrect as well, it is irritating to trawl through. I've nothing against him, just that this and similar have been poor threads which have degraded into arguments, at the fault of both IPT and others.
