Some of you may remember this thread from last year, in which I asked for advice in setting up a website. Well... nothing came of it.

Now though, I am looking at going again. My friend has suggested going through "Blogger", which I had never even heard of until she suggested it (it's owned by Google), and on paper it looks decent enough. But obviously I would want quite a bit of memory space, because I would be uploading all kinds of junk! Photos, stories (both real and otherwise), random notes, and more would find themselves on "my" site, thereby resulting in quite a large requirement.

Anyway, I want this to be up before I set off for the Emerald Isle, so that I can post on there as soon as I set off (and if possible even before that!). Has anyone got any experience of it, or any suggestions about the whole thing? It would be much appreciated!

Thank you

I've had a look, and to be honest I'm not sure I agree. I would prefer something more professional than that, on which I can upload essentially anything I desire at any time without having to worry about post counts limits (either length or quantity) or anything like that. I was considering asking my father (he mentioned it many moons ago), but I'm not sure if I can save changes to his website without him around.

If it did happen that way, I would sincerely hope that I could create one of those "mini" domain things, like "ben DOT bill DOT co DOT uk" would (the "ben" bit).

Hi Ivo...
I'm not sure what you mean by "mini domain things."
Personally I recommend Wordpress for blogs as you can choose from a huge range of styles/themes for different purposes.
