Read it in a magazine today (forget which) that DRS are reopening Motherwell Shed for the first time since EWS closed it four years ago.

Also, a wee bit of interest is that the shed is apparently little-changed since it was closed to steam in 1967. It's actually the same building that housed the steam locomotives way-back-when that DRS plan to use to house some diesel locomotives, rolling stock and maybe even charter train locos and stock. Could steam be returning to Motherwell shed in the near future?

Passed this today, only one side of the depot has been tidied up which is the mossed side of the depot ie new stop boards and wait further instruction boards.

I also heard that there using this to do wagon repairs

They certainly did have a fire at Motherwell shed a few years back. Can't remember exactly when but I think it was about 2004/5.

Has DB Schenker removed all Withdrawn locos & stock?

Also, has DRS purchased the depot or are they leasing it from DB Schenker?

Few flat wagons and moderate activity there when I passed about 3 weeks ago.

It suprises me how DRS based in the north can have route knowledge locations all over the country.
Any suggestions?

9K43, DRS operate Nuclear & Freight throughout the UK therefore requiring a high level of Route Knowledge & add to this providing Traincrew for Charter Trains.
