Even now on the 91s and Mk4s you have the grey / silver which don't match properly so it will be a long time before east coasts fleet is uniform!

It makes no sense to switch paint part way through.

EC must have known the cost of the metallic paint, and should have negotiated a price for all the paint required - even if the trains were going to be painted over a long period of time.

How could they suddenly wake up one day and go 'Oh, I think we're paying too much' and switch to some drab, dull, grey - knowing it would mean a mix of colours as things get swapped around.

It seems like very bad planning by whoever was responsible for procuring the materials.

Now if the paint somehow ran out, or was no longer made (unlikely!) then that's equally bad, if only for different reasons.

Probably the MML one as given the rest were painted into EMT livery perhaps it was due?

The mml one is still around. I saw it on Tuesday. And I think yesterday but it was just a glance, However it seems to be at Lincoln a lot

The ex-MML set is diagrammed on the Evening Lincoln service.

Thats when I've been seeing it, I don't usually see the morning one (I hear it from my flat though).

Is there any reason why the same unit isn't used for bot runs? Or is it just how the timings fall?

In the morning it is on the 0700 Hull - KX, probably can't do a daigram to have it on both.

Same diagram, would arrive at London at about 1830

Then it leaves for lincoln around 7pm.

Is this the next in line for the new paintwork? (surely its this or the EMT one?)

Isn't the EMT one the one you are on about...?

And it may be saved til last as they were repainted pretty recently

Hey all, Just had the Lincol;n echo go by my window, and it seems some of the carriages where painted in white, with red/pink circles above the windows and red doors however some where in the NXEC and it still had the MML HST and a NXEC HST, The MML HST looked good with the new coach colour scheme though.

You do realize that Lincolnshire Echo was the name given to a specific 43 not the service itself right? The only named trains on EC are the Flying Scotsman, Northern Lights, Highland Chieftain and Hull Executive.

Yeah, However I like it more than saying the London-Lincoln service, and i hold onto a vain hope that the Lono will be used on at least one of the services each day
