Dismantlement of Stephenson tower is proceeding - it looks shorter every time I see it.
The central section of the Pallasades closed a while ago, construction of the atrium is proceeding there out of sight.
Platform 1 refurbishment completed end of last year (I think), though the false ceiling only went up recently.
Platform 12 has been closed since end of last year, it was supposed to be done by autumn but it doesn't look close to compeltion. It looks like it includes a lot more building work than platform 1, and lots of steelwork where the old un-numbered bay platform behind the B end of platform 12 was. I wonder if the building requirements on/behind paltform 12 changed when the John Lewis department store addition was announced? I think it would be over the B end of platform 12.
Part of the area between the A end of most (maybe all) island platforms and the stairs from the concourse have been boxed off. No idea what is happening behind there. Its the area between the platforms, at the bottom of the A end stairs, with timetables below a departure screen. Platform islands 4-5, 8-9, 10-11 definitely, maybe 6-7, no idea about 2-3.
There has been some minor work on the A end of several platforms - areas were cordoned off for a while while paving slabs were removed and holes dug. That all seems to have finished now, whatever it was.
No idea what the progress is like inside the old car park, where the first half of the new concourse will be.
Official side, but it doesn't have much news on it:

On a related note, does anyone know what locomotives are used to haul the wagons that sit on platform 12 (the spoil train) between there and the staging area at Small Heath? Do they borrow a 66 from the container freight yard just outside New Street?
