HSTs. I don't think so. And I doubt you would find many who would agree with you on that one either TBH
Depends on what basis :P
Maintenance? Driver comfort? Charges to use? Carbon footprint? ;)

The first is 5 221
At present yes. But if the 390's ever come back from Scotland, it'll be one of those.

It's also 06:20 from Rugby, not 07:20.

I didn't get the number. It was going too fast. It had the same paint job as 055 though. It was going north.

According to the West Coast RUS, platform lengthening for 11-car Pendolinos is required at:

Euston, Watford Jn, Northampton, Rugby,
Wolverhampton, Lichfield TV, Stoke, Macclesfield,
Wilmslow, Warrington BQ, Lancaster, Carlisle

SDO will be used at other stations which cannot be extended.

Lancaster has been extended on Platforms 3 and 4.

You never know; HS2 might specify AGVs (or a loading gauge friendly derivative of) for its' classic compatible rolling stock. ;)

I presume that that's 390056 then? Where's the photo taken from? Would love to see a fleet of AGVs' in the UK, although no doubt they'll have been superseded by something else by the time HS2 comes into play.

Just out of interest how did it end up arriving in the UK ? I assume a 66 didn't go to Italy to get it ... (did it!?)

Like most trains built in Europe, via rail to Frethun, then a 92 would have taken it through the tunnel to Dollands Moor.
