Have noticed fairly major construction work going on at Sandhills, including what looks like a new (foot?) bridge waiting to be put in position. Just curious as to what's going on.

Bridge replacement. No trains 25th to 28th inclusive.

The existing Sandhills Lane Bridge is to be replaced, with a new deck - the temporary bridge is for S&T cables etc....

Rail Replacement Buses on 27th and 28th between:
Liverpool Central and Bootle Oriel Road
Liverpool Central and Walton
Liverpool Central and Rice Lane
(no trains 25th/26th!)

The station itself was done up in 2007, and is much better. So the bridge will be the final bit of work, hopefully for many years
