The architecture looks like Midland Railway.
1, First guess -Could it be a station on the Settle & Carlisle line?
2. Second Guess- East Midlands.

Reason- I estimate the photo taken late 1960s.
The bus timetable on the wall has a short name heading at the top of board-
Could this be "Ribble" or "Trent" buses?

These are only my thoughts but I could be totally wrong. Am I on the "right track"?

It seems Mr Sleeper has forgotten about this picture. In the meantime I'll post something to pass the time.....

The sleepers not forgotten, I'm waiting for a correct answer as they are all wrong so far!

Nope all wrong. The picture was taken in 1979
The building hasn't changed but the station has. It must one one of the few with an open fire in the waiting room which is still used!

Was I wrong with my initial guess at Didcot? You've not responded to it, but on reflection I don't think it is.

Not that it helps much these days, but the cab roof looks a bit low. I think it may be one of the ex-Landore ones.

Must be a trick of the angle making the roof look lower. Or madness on my part.

It is clearly somewhere with a decent congregation of spotters. I can't rule out electrification of the overhead variety. There are at least two platform islands, as you are taking the phot from the one which isn't visible. I'm going to kick myself when you reveal the answer (or when I hit submit and see Brian's response).

A long shot. Newport, from the relief line platform, looking towards Godfrey Rd at a time of building works?

This is a former BR station, I hope I haven't bent the rules too far. I also hope I have managed to blur everyhting I need to.
