As, I think, many shareholders are also WRA members, the initial thing to do is to publicise what is proposed as much as posible. I do not do twitter or Facebook stuff, but I think that is probably a good start. I did put something on the WR facebook page, but it was immediately deleted! Informing the local (and national) press and starting a "just giving" appeal might work. Look how quickly the NYMR raised money for the vandalised Gresley coaches.

Hi. I am sure other shareholders were as equally shocked as me to receive this news the other day, although I don't know how we would go about obtaining a shareholder list. I currently live in the area and would be interested to attend the proposed meeting, if at all possible. I am a retired General Manager of a narrow gauge railway in North Wales, and would be happy to lend my support. I am however in the process of moving back to North Wales, so may not be around for very long!

An alternative bid is being proposed by a group of like-minded individuals but time is desperately short. I have been told that WR plc will "consider" any bid but via an intermediary Carl Les has told me we are running out of time. A meeting is being arranged by the self styled task group later this week. The first hurdle is to secure promises of funds (around 450k will be needed) and there is no time to apply for a mortgage!
You say you are a shareholder - how much support do you believe we could garner if we had access to a shareholder list (which we don't have by the way)
