First things,first Jim!.Yes,it's a great box to start,in fact there is a guy on here (mainly on Railchat),who started there and is in a PSB now,so you never know.It may or may not shut in December,it was supposed to shut last year,but as hopefully you will find out,things rarely work out like they are planned on the railway,not timewise anyway.There is already a fair bit of competition for the jobs that are available from the people being displaced,that said, nobody from Ops put in for Midge Hall,so get on first and cross that bridge when you come to it.If you get taken on,PM me and I'll take you through the in's and outs of the job and who's who on the area...good luck,

Hi Jim,The job you have been interviewed for is a good one depending on your point of view.It's fairly unique in the fact as a Crossing Keeper you pass signals at danger and examine the line,tasks usually only Signalmen do.There isn't much variety of train,because it's simply a branch that goes to Colne,so there is no freight and an hourly DMU service.If you want any more details,let me know and I'll tell you what you want to know...
