  • hi, my name is don burke. I am trying to find out as much information on the stretch of line between the Bletchley fly over and Winslow. If you could help it would be much appreciated. my tel number is 07973660003 and email is [email protected]
I found your old post about the Canonbury curve whilst doing some Internet research for my wife regarding her 1964 Schools Cruise to Turkey on the SS Devonia! She kept a diary if her trip and and asked me if I could trace the route that her Schools Boat Train from Newcastle took across London to Folkstone on 6th March 1964. I discovered that she had taken the Canonbury curve and that her train was then reversed just beyond Canonbury to run via Hampstead and Kensington across the Thames to Denmark Hill and onward via Maidstone to Folkstone Harbour. I realise this still does not count as passenger traffic! :)
Those two articles about the Kings Cross area I sent were scanned from old Railway Magazine articles. I downloaded them from someone's website, but AFAICT the owner has hidden the files now.

I have another article about the 'south to east' connection at Snow Hill under the Smithfield Market, I can send that to your email address as before if that helps?
