That's true, and neither did Arriva Trains Wales at Helsby until some pressure was applied. Not see what TFW are showing there.
Let's hope Merseyrail take over it in the future, and something useful is provided.
Ok, thanks for letting me know.
I think replacing Chester- Runcorn - Liverpool by bus is not a great idea. I don't imagine the take up would be great, plus after such a long wait for a regular through service, the last thing you want is to put passengers off with a bus replacement.
I don't know anything about units available etc, I'm not an expert just an interested passenger. I just know this service is meant to be heading into Wales and until it does its not obtaining its full potential . What does the unit do, when it arrives in Chester in between Liverpool runs ?
As someone who often uses Frodsham Station, I wouldn't go via Chester or Earlestown to reach Liverpool, it just takes far too long. I'd go to Acton Bridge as I used to before the curve opened. I am sure the NCRUG will be putting some pressure onto TFW to return the hourly service as soon as its...
I travel.mid afternoon last Saturday from Lime Street to Frodsham, there were many people getting off the inbound service, I can only imagine this will just increase with more things opening up as of today.
Having just boarded the 13.38 from Liverpool Lime Street to Chester via Halton Curve and seen the large amount of people disembarking the arriving service, I'm wondering that its time to return the service to hourly.
If you are in Chester, less handy for Helsby and Frodsham passengers.
Not so, its well used. I used to go Acton Bridge to Lime Street, but switched to Frodsham when it started, much cheaper fare.
I think Hartford was given a half hourly service recently, so guess that's gone, Acton Bridge was at last improved too which is a station I use. Runcorn will also have less service to/from Liverpool . Of course the passenger volumes aren't there presently.
I have always thought Ince and Elton would take quite a few park and ride commuters if there was a half decent train service. There appears quite a bit of space for parking a car there.
My local station is Frodsham and being outside the Merseytavel area we do not receive a great rail service (...
Quite so !
Im not sure of the borders of West Lancs administration , but I understand it was invited but declined to join the LCR which Halton did join. I'm sure being part of it would help from an integrated transport point of view. I always think of John Prescot when I say the...
