    Philip Haigh @philatrail First will start its open access London King's Cross-Edinburgh rail service on October 25, branded Lumo. Says the service is aimed at air passengers. Fares start at £14.90 (until 1/12/21). Says that 60% of single fares will be £30 or less. Will use Hitachi electric stock.

    Sounds like ITSO on rail has come a long way as you definitely needed the relevant operators card when I used it (many years ago). I believe even the SWT and EMT cards which both just said StagecoachSmart on were not compatible. Unfortunately I was so put off that I’ve never tried again… wonder...
